What an embarrassment that was.;)

A 6-minute highlight reel in the article for those interested

..............................................

A three-goal haul from Brandon Ryan wasn't enough to get Brisbane over the line, with the Lions going down to Williamstown by 56 points.

Untried forward Luke Lloyd didn't kick a major but had a huge presence with 19 disposals and 12 marks, while mid James Tunstill kicked one goal and collected 20 disposals and seven marks.

Youngster Will McLachlan looked dangerous with two goals from 11 disposals, Sam Marshall kicked one goal from his 18 touches, and Academy product Bruce Reville found plenty of the ball to finish with 20 disposals and three clearances.

Shadeau Brain (14 disposals, five marks) and Reece Torrent (16, four clearances) worked hard, while Irish duo Conor McKenna made (12 disposals, one goal) and Darragh Joyce (17 disposals) were both busy.

Darcy Craven (six disposals, one goal), Luke Beecken (12 disposals) and Zane Zakostelsky (10 disposals, 10 hitouts) were also among the action.

"Stats Summary"

I assume Lloyd didn't kick a major and racked up the marks because he was playing down back?

Thats probably what it is, and Lloyd did not hit the scoreboard.
They may have covered themselves by stating "Untried forward"

But agree these writeups are usually stats based.
That's why i mentioned the highlights reel.
Although not that many Lions highlights

Surely Dizzy plays down back
Not sure why you would think that.
Dizzy can play defense anytime without relearning the craft.
The more he plays forward the better it is for the team/squad in my opinion.

Who knows what will happen to Day on his return and Smith is still at least 3 weeks away.
Ryan is our last pick for that forward position.

In terms of Day replacements I'd have in order;

Smith, Gallop, Fort and Ryan (needs to be able to ruck)

For Hippy I'd have;

Gallop, Ryan and Dizzy

For Logan I'd have;

Gallop, McLachlan and then Dizzy

But if we lose Andrews or Payne then Dizzy should be first in and he has to be prepared for that. Could be coming in to play on Curnow or Treacy or another gun key forward

Looks a very strong side... should be a good contest, Giants sitting in 3rd place and us 9th but only 4 points and percentage behind the Giants, might get along to this one if I'm in the mood after tomorrows seniors result.

Purely my opinion having seen very little of his game time but I think ZZ has shown some better signs as a forward/ruck option and I'd much rather him continue in that role with Gallop up forward. I think that would offer more help to our future than Gardiner forward. I also think he's better off helping to coach and organise the backline (not that they are a young backline) but a proper senior player should be back there
