Beecken would be getting a game at every other club so we either find a way to give him some opportunity or risk losing him.

Good idea but who does he take the place of in our wing rotations?I'm with Nathan Barley - trial him on the wing in the VFL.

I think that's the only option if we think Kiddy can make it back. Beecken has the smarts and versatility to handle a few roles imo. I had an inkling he was a bit special the first time I saw him and to me he's really starting to get into the swing of being at a great club , getting stronger and improving his skills week on week.I'm with Nathan Barley - trial him on the wing in the VFL.
Nah, I was meaning even if he plays wing in VFL there still wouldn't be a clear path to a senior spot with us.In the VFL?
If he can develop as a wing and have that along with his ability at HBF he'll be a viable option at AFL level of the opportunity arises.
I wouldn't move him on under any circumstances. With the opportunity he could be just as good as some of the guys already in there.I can't see Beecken getting a senior role with us in the backline or wing. Probably someone we should help move onto to another club for his sake. He really does look like he could play at AFL level and it would be a real shame if he didn't get a chance
I get what you're saying but I accept we can't keep or play then all. Im happy to see some go on to play at other clubs and achieve their dream. Im happy to see Prior and Hinge etc go and play well elsewhere (but also not leave in anger)I wouldn't move him on under any circumstances. Well the way I look at it he's a top 25 player at the club. Injuries would take him further up the totem pole. Zorko's probably in his last year . Some of the others are very proppy. One thing I don't subscribe to is letting go of your best reserves because you're going to need them , probably permanently at some point.I get what you're saying but I accept we can't keep or play then all. Easy no brainer trade there, straight swap Ben Keays for Luke Beecken.Beecken is out of contract at the end of the season and still on a rookie deal.
We would have to offer him a senior contract over multiple years to keep him, because odds on he's going to be offered senior contracts from oppo clubs. I'd be genuinely surprised if Port aren't already talking to his manager.
Er, can't see Keays running around for Port atm.Easy no brainer trade there, straight swap Ben Keays for Luke Beecken.
Oh… Adelaide teams… they’re all the same.Er, can't see Keays running around for Port atm.

For the usual Sub 10 mins at the end of the last quarter?Just give Beecken a sub role one match coming up and see what he can do.
No doubt.Beecken is out of contract at the end of the season and still on a rookie deal.

Better than nothing. For the usual Sub 10 mins at the end of the last quarter?
