Can't wait for SOS to nominate him with St Kilda's pick 4.
Haha.

In all seriousness what if I said St Kilda have already traded their second rounder (and haven't traded in another one) so SOS screwing us over in a realistic scenario doesn't look possible at this point in time.

And Carlton have pick #35 so also potentially not a pain in butt.

there a world where we draft both Fred & Toby, or are they too similar? I like the idea of drafting two teammates to help their transition to AFL level, kinda like Liverpool getting Wirtz & Frimpong.
Best small or medium forward with our first pick.

If fred is there at our 2nd pick I would take him. We need more good skills.

Ideally you would like a bit more athletic profile in both, so 1 could play wing but I think you make it work.

Maybe we could draft the Burj Khalifa to go even taller lol
Walls taking another tall in the 2nd round after taking Marsh in the 1st

Star Wars Mas GIF by Chris Cimino

I highly doubt we go for Fred as well with our 1st or 2nd picks, we need classy small forward or skilled outside players. If he’s still there at the tigers 3rd and Whan hasn’t been bid on, we may look at him. in walls we trust.

He’s dropped off the radar recently, but we could do a lot worse than recruiting Basil Hart as a Cat B rookie. Good size, very quick and great skills as a half forward - some phenomenal highlights.

What can’t be understated is how hard it must be for him as an indigenous lad from down south moving away from family to Perth to try to make it on his own.

I really hope he gets a chance as a late pick on our list to show what he can do with the clubs support and guidance.

Shopping list

Skilled half back
Small forward
Mid sized backman

Mcvee and Starcevich solve 2 of those problems if we can fluke those, leaving a small forward left

Looking at Cal's first top 25, not a strong draft for that role (or the others might I add)

All the talent tied up in academies. It’s dumb. The draft is no longer a successful equalization method.

Death, taxes, and several posters on this board falling in love with WA players in the draft again.
Every single year lol 🤣

I’ll never ever understand how in a national competition, with a nationwide talent pool available to us, how people want us to reach in the draft for WA based players, and ignore higher ranked players from interstate.

Replace WA players with South Freo players and you've got me covered.

He's quick, clean hands in congestion and both footed - you could make a handy small forward out of that.

I'd say Ryda Luke has overtaken him by some margin, albeit with the aid of a very strong South side kicking it to him.

Both Hart and Luke are roughly the same 185cm height, so more your medium forward than a true "small".

We should be shopping our first pick around to get two picks. Like 12 for norths 20 and 21 picks. Give 20 to Melbourne for McVee and get the biggest slider at 21 (The Bruce of 2025). Could Fred make it that deep? Jacob Farrow maybe? Then trade 30 into next year in prep for an early Robinson bid and use the rest of our junk picks to match the Whan bid if/when it comes. Grab Basil Hart as a Cat B rookie and let them have front row seats to a premiership.

Talor Byrne for small forward

Murphy Reid says hi.

Don't think this is a strong crop for WA so pick 3-4 needs and go with the best available inside those parameters IMO.

Toby with 27 touches, Ryda Luke with 2 goals &Fred with 32 & 2 in a big win for Souths.
