Looking at this Dovaston guy, I’m not so sure. Looked a little fumbly in contested situations to me.. Unfortunately I don’t think this draft has many great small forwards.

The mature ager pickett from SA looks pretty classy
what about mature age Massimo Rasso at a later pick? pickett also may be later pick, right?

Probably worth pointing out the Allen and TDK compensation picks and that they’ll be as many as five bids before our selection.

Pick 11 will be more like Pick 18. Trading our future first to move up probably doesn’t even get us high enough tbh. I’m not suggesting we trade that btw.
Whats pick 18 in 2027 (before afl magic) worth in 2026 terms anyway?;)))

Think Pickett is possibly the first mature ager taken tbh. Our second pick might be around the ball park except good luck guessing where our second pick actually falls at this stage. Reckon if McVee request a trade to us it’s gone though.

Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney and Carlton in particular probably dominate that second round pre draft with those picks largely disappearing to match first round bids. Reckon they’ll be pick swaps in trade week and on draft night which really change things. Assuming we stay with our 36-6 list structure reckon our second rounder and third rounders are likely to get involved in trades with these sides.

Just started reading different draft rankings and see players highlights. As our pick most likely be 18 or beyond the following are likely at our first pick. Lachy Devaston (another Lachy, 2 Lachies became good players but asked for trade may be third time lucky) Oskar Taylor, Jevan Phillipou. any one else chance of being there at our pick who we may be interested in? Farrow doesn't look to be there.
Noah hibbens- Hargreaves.
Plenty of talent , lacks a bit of application
Fwd/mid
be more than happy if we use our first on him

good in contest? in highlights it was mostly uncontested possessions... (understand it is highlights)
which position is he? wing? small forward? good with tackling? But who ever you are high on have turn out good (example Murphy Reid). so backing you on this.....

Well Tbf I was massive on Murphy even before we drafted him soooo 😜

He’s basically another fwd/mid (Reid probably more mid/fwd but that kids a freak tho!)
Can rack it up , plenty of pace and skill and loves a goal but can go missing are my takeaways from NHH

His contested games seems fine from what I’ve seen (I’ll admit not huge amount-so better to ask draftwatchers eg Chris25 etc) but I did watch him in the WA vVC game and was the clear standout on that day.
Also had another big game recently 30 odd possies and 5 goals.

Is definitely the type of player our club could use.

Idk I just really rate those players who have an ability to produce those massive stand out games at jr level* -if you go through underage footy and see which payers had them in years gone past I can guarantee most would have gone onto high honours at the next level.

*as a side note just in that see the draft stocks of Sullivan robey going through the roof now just off the back of couple late season/finals games

Well Toby’s draft price just went up!

You might want to check the past winners of this medal. If anything it would make his price go down if recruiters are banking on history repeating. Kepler Bradley is the only winner to have a half decent AFL career after winning the medal. Maybe Dean Kent. You have to go back to Phil Narkle in 1977 or Laurie Keene in 1980 to find a better player than Kepler.

Wow you’re right. Few names I recognise, Graeme John was an early winner although he’s probably more famous for running Australia Post for a while

This post made me laugh purely because it reminded me of a old trade radio classic call in from a saint nuff a few years back who wanted saints to trade Dean Kent and a second rounder to freo in exchange for Nat Fyfe in his prime 🤣🤣
