Was reading on the draft boards that Lucas Robinson should be back this week. Had three weeks off with a head knock.

Freo fans have to get excited by this performance from their NGA prospect Toby Whan. The big and powerful Whan did a bit of everything on the day, flying through the air to take a mark of the year contender, booting goals, lacing out teammates with his raking left foot, and bulldozing his way through contests. Whan might be flying under the radar at the moment with a lot of draft watchers, but the upcoming Champs might be where he forces everyone to sit up and take notice.
We need more lefties. He used his non preferred a couple of times. Would be a good fit i reckonHis kicking is a thing of beauty, cant wait to see him in purple
Draft rankings always change end of year. Who knows what that will look like in September.I hear a bunch of Vicbias complaining the draft is weak but then see Whan is consistenly outside top 20 and Curtin outside the top 10 and I assume a lot of the complaining is because of the Vic strength. Legit seems like the best WA crop in a long time

NGA rules have changed again. At least we are a chance now.Draft rankings always change end of year. Who knows what that will look like in September.
As someone that has watched very little highlight videos from WAFL colts before, that was an incredible watch, am I missing something for him not being higher?I hear a bunch of Vicbias complaining the draft is weak but then see Whan is consistenly outside top 20 and Curtin outside the top 10 and I assume a lot of the complaining is because of the Vic strength. Peel colts suck is the main thingAs someone that has watched very little highlight videos from WAFL colts before, that was an incredible watch, am I missing something for him not being higher?
I think we'll be safe with Robinson, they'll give it at least two years of the new cost system and universal access. Can see it changing quickly after that though.I wouldn’t be getting too excited on Robinson next year.
Getting more and more convinced the NGA draft rules will change again this year after the national draft.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that the ND is broken. Even Twomey is saying it openly on the AFLs own podcast now.
When the uproar comes as the end of the first round is in the mid 30s later this year, the AFL will do what they always do and make a knee jerk reaction the other way to overcorrect.
If Robinson is a genuine top 10 pick in 2026 I’ll be surprised if we can still match him.
he looks a good, Young playerHis kicking is a thing of beauty, cant wait to see him in purple
Lefties are more often considered one-sided players, at least from the overall perception. We need more lefties. He used his non preferred a couple of times. Would be a good fit i reckon
Yep and still very sad he broke down and we didn't get a few more years, he was amazing but I still feel he had more potential.Lefties are more often considered one-sided players, at least from the overall perception.
Maybe us righties have some ingrained lefty envy.
But,
Many years ago (i moved to Melbourne in 2013), so before 2013, I was at Freo training & noted that the player who kicked with his non-preferred foot during the old warm up/start of training kick to kick with 1 other player, as they are in 2 horizontal lines, was
Stephen Hill.
all-time great & one of my all-time faves
definitely the best Hill. - by a mile
I reckon we need a could have been, but realistic, not someone who didn't play at the top levelYep and still very sad he broke down and we didn't get a few more years, he was amazing but I still feel he had more potential.
It's moments like these im very glad we have our picks...
Can we finish low enough for Rodriguez? He'd really round out that midfield
Hopefully we can grab him before they shut the door on it.I think we'll be safe with Robinson, they'll give it at least two years of the new cost system and universal access. Can see it changing quickly after that though.
I'll die on the hill the best solution if they adamantly want to keep points kids a thing is two recruiting nights, Auction night and draft night. It solves a lot of issues
Falls within our NGA catchment area which includes South Freo (as well as Mid West and Kimberley from memory, someone correct me if I'm wrong)Is he indigenous or from overseas background - how is he our NGA anyway?

WC recruiting has picked players who are ordinary kicks. With West Coast being so bad we might be safe from interstate poaching.
I really hope so..
Would be interesting how many nga players are in each teams best 22.
What's a player comparison for Ryda mate? Genuine medium forward?Half time report
Whan: playing with a bit of a niggle but still finding the ball. 13 disposals and 2 goals. He has some moves in traffic.
Rodriguez:
Robinson: 7 disposals for the half. It's his first game of the season so a bit rusty but he has started to come into the game more. He is playing against kids slightly older than him so will take some time.
Rodriguez: Just a very clean and classy player.
Ryda: 8 goals in a half! Beautiful set of hands and reads the play well.
My God this could be a bumper NGA crop for us. Didn’t even know Ryda was an NGA prospectHalf time report
