Was reading on the draft boards that Lucas Robinson should be back this week. Had three weeks off with a head knock.

Freo fans have to get excited by this performance from their NGA prospect Toby Whan. The big and powerful Whan did a bit of everything on the day, flying through the air to take a mark of the year contender, booting goals, lacing out teammates with his raking left foot, and bulldozing his way through contests. Whan might be flying under the radar at the moment with a lot of draft watchers, but the upcoming Champs might be where he forces everyone to sit up and take notice.

NGA rules have changed again. At least we are a chance now.
Sounds like Whan could be played on the wing, Hart as the small/medium forward.

As someone that has watched very little highlight videos from WAFL colts before, that was an incredible watch, am I missing something for him not being higher?

Getting more and more convinced the NGA draft rules will change again this year after the national draft.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that the ND is broken. Even Twomey is saying it openly on the AFLs own podcast now.

When the uproar comes as the end of the first round is in the mid 30s later this year, the AFL will do what they always do and make a knee jerk reaction the other way to overcorrect.

If Robinson is a genuine top 10 pick in 2026 I’ll be surprised if we can still match him.

I think the change will come in the 2027 draft to protect Tasmania and the NGA pillage in 25 and 26 will be seen as paying the clubs ahead for what's to come.

Maybe us righties have some ingrained lefty envy.
But,

Yep and still very sad he broke down and we didn't get a few more years, he was amazing but I still feel he had more potential.

I must say Whan looks a fine player.
Reminds me of Ed Richards at the bulldogs. Exactly what we need.

Falls within our NGA catchment area which includes South Freo (as well as Mid West and Kimberley from memory, someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm more concerned they will try to sneak in a boundary change in as a way of helping out WC. Robinson lives right next to the border between zones. WC claimed him originally and we had to confirm exactly where his family farm was to see who had the rights to him.

The AFL is undergoing a rezoning exercise, for example North are losing Tasmania. Not sure when it is being implemented. Clubs have submitted their zoning feedback on what they would like to retain/obtain, I think there was an article a week or so ago about it. It shouldn't impact the WA situation overall (e.g. Tasmania won't get anything from WA), but it is an opportunity to make a bulldust zone change to screw us.

WC recruiting has picked players who are ordinary kicks.
They have size, but lack class.
They should take Fred and Walley from WA.
Freo could take Whan and Hart.
Appears that only 3 WA players are in the top 20 ATM.
Curtin might be joining his brother.

Ryda: 8 goals in a half! Beautiful set of hands and reads the play well. Plays a very similar style to Sturt.
