I thought our pick 20 won't change as carlton gold coast and brisbane picks will be swallowed and 20 will remain 20. But Twomey said gold coast and brisbane considering a trade on draft night which may push our 20 to 22. Which may make us lose Pickett and NHH. In that case Nairn a good option ? Or Mikunda?

If Carlton is planning to take Pickett at 19 only way we get him is Harry Dean bid come bit later so that carltons second pick will be higher than 19..and there will be other players carlton interested at earlier pick say pick 15 or 16

Gold Coast will definitely trade 15. They have 2 Academy picks rated top 10 (Uwland, Patterson). If they retain 17 that will need another pick to match early bid that does move us back and then Patterson further picks after our first. Sydney have academy around our first, Brisbane trying to trade back for Annable. Dean looks like taking one of Carlton’s early picks before ours.

My best guess is 24/25.

Like the cut of his jibe. Reminds me a bit of Sturt.
I like very much that he says his preferred position is wing and that he is rated as having a very high footy IQ.
I imagine him and Reid going to work (if Nairn can make the jump even half as well as Reid).

It'll be hard with Whan and Luke tbh.

Tbh I starting to think there's a significant chance Whan goes undrafted in the national draft and goes straight onto our rookie list. I've been thinking that about Luke for some time.

When Whan is so borderline it's quite hard to see us adding another type of Category B rookie IMO.

And btw before anyone suggests otherwise I think the chances of Whan and Luke making it is higher than one of the Irish scraps (let's face it the really good ones will go elsewhere).

We are still in contact with Eoin McElholm who trialled with us last off season.

He won the best U20 player in his comp this year and is lightening fast.

Not sure if we go that way as spots are tight but I would like to see us step out of the box for a change.
