It's unfair to label it the Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves thread but he might as well head the list.

Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier far and away the most unlucky to not at least get a rookie spot.

Provided he has an injury free run at North Adelaide next year in the lead up to the MSD He'd be my favourite from that list to get a gig.

Felix Kneipp should probably be on your list too.

Not convinced BOB's not a better prospect than some that went in the National draft let alone the rookie draft.

Blamires very odd considering the history of the forhergill round medallist and how thin the draft was. I wonder if he gets an SSP spot somewhere. also think felix kneipp very unlucky.

I hope that Port gives BOB a train-on spot during the summer and joins as a SSP. Two free spots on the list.

Considering his form in thee VFL and the supposed less than stellar quality of this draft cohort, it is something of a surprise to see Blamires without an AFL guernsey.
Considering that quite a few clubs left spots open, he may well fill one of them.

these the most unlucky imho

is it time for the AFL to increase list sizes?

At the least, it needs to return to pre 2020 levels.

At least 46 players per side.
4 x 18 = 72 more names on lists, Is there enough talent to stock lists? that will be how AFL house push back you would think.

( I would do it, something needs to expand cause at the moment, clubs are getting injuries and then struggling to stay competitive)

Totally agree, BOB is very talented.

Personally don't see why there's caps on list spots, if you can fit 60 blokes under the cap why not let clubs do it

THIS!

2028 should see the expansion of list sizes.

I could see it having a detrimental effect on the second tier talent pools. More centralisation and one year contract volatility. Would rather there be more investment in the state comps getting better

Fair point. In that case let's compromise and make it 50 players. Clubs surely can't run out due to injury with a list that size.

I'd rather making team sizes smaller and keeping list sizes constant. AFL is already stretching the talent pool as it is, with many questioning whether they are investing enough in development pathways.

They want an equal competition but bring in new clubs and now have 23 players on a team instead of 22.

Imagine how high quality the competition would be if there were only 10 teams instead of 18.

Obviously not advocating for getting rid of clubs, but there could be a material benefit from making teams 15 on field + 5 bench. Would substantively change the feel of the game but it's already the direction the game is heading
