It’s solid and improving

I don’t see Moir as a full time mid but I reckon he could really add to our mix with his skills. He reads it so well and is very creative. Just burst minutes

He can then go forward with confidence

A combination of Moir Walsh Jagga Walker Ison with a bull like Cripps Hewett or Lord helping is really exciting to me. If a Wilson type with genuine leg speed could step up it would be an awesome midfield

Just my opinion 😎
I agree completely. I think Wilson is someone the mc needs to preserve and get exposure to senior footy this year

I hate that we have 11 of 14 night games to start the year. Times haven’t been set for Round 16-24, but you just know that the vast majority of those will be night games as well since they contain Richmond, Hawthorn, Collingwood, Brisbane and Fremantle in Round 24 which the AFL will want to make the very last game of the home and away campaign on Sunday evening.

It’s ridiculous. We have 100,000 members consistently, plus countless school age supporters who won’t get to watch us play entire games of football because we are playing at night so often.
Night games are big for the clubs in prime time..as long as they perform.

Reckon most of the latter season will be day games you mention. Wait to see how we’re travelling before selecting night games with the sh!thouse floating fixture + it depends who else is competing in those rounds.

You base yourself around the fixture, not vice versa. Carlton’s playing, you set the calendar to watch day or night (same as when overseas).
Kids can stay up and watch. More important than another sh!tty day at school. Call them in sick if need be (unlimited sick days to use).

Re Cooper Lord.

Noticed a passage of play halfway through the third quarter stoppage lions forward line in the pocket he was should to shoulder on Ashcroft ball comes down to ground Ashcroft separates in a split second and snaps a goal.

He’ll learn from that but that’s the little things that make a difference.

Wonder how we’ll approach the Cats game.

Full dress-rehearsal or more of the managed-minutes approach we used against Brisbane?

Hope Newman gets at least 60 minutes or so of game time.

Doubt we’ll see Carroll or Cow, which probably means we’ll rule them out for Round 0.

I think it'll be a full dress-rehearsel with some managed minutes. Who we select will give us a pretty good idea of our best 23 for round 0. Anyone playing reserves would be unlikely.

Moo still a chance.

Partially.

It's the smarts and instincts that can be learned.

The reaction speed, explosiveness to get a little separation and fast twitch is part of what separates them as well.

I would assume you'd structure it along the lines of the Brisbane game.

There were a number of times that the Lions exited from the front of the stoppage or we didn't defend goal side of the contest. Hopefully we are getting that out of our system. We have been terrible with preventing scores on stoppages in D50 for the last 2 years

They have to get used to different rules with the rucks as well. Not worried about this as it was a pre-season game.
