The Crows’ alignment and involvement in the state talent pathway is set to be strengthened with the appointment of Chris Trapp’s as its new Academies Coach – SANFL and Adelaide Football Club.

Trapp takes on the role after combining his coaching with administration in a decade-long tenure as Sturt’s Senior Football Manager, while also guiding the club’s reserves team into the past four grand finals, including the 2022 premiership.

He was also in charge of the Double Blues’ under-18 team which claimed the 2017 premiership.

As part of his new role, Trapp will replace Jack Madgen, as the coach of the male Crows Academies programs.

Interesting to see that the SANFL now have their own $25.3m high performance centre at West Lakes.

Tony Bamford trumpets that we'll be the only state with its own training base for pathways. The Northern Academies just use the AFL venues.

Does this seem like a colossal waste of money? Why couldn't they have just partnered with the Crows and Port, shared their facilities and chipped in for the cost of maintaining/upgrading them?

Essentially this is to run 4 teams
U16 boys and girls
U18 boys and girls

Who do this program as an add on to their club stuff

Umpires as well. I think VIC are doing same thing at Waverley, which they just bought from Hawthorn.

Then we would’ve had people complaining that we’re letting the SANFL use our facilities.

Plus, as glengowan mentioned, the umpires will train there too.

Who'd complain about South Australian state squad juniors becoming familiar with our club?

And what would the umpires need that's not provided by almost any suburban oval?

They've obviously been stockpiling money off us and Port. Shows the broken system we have

We’ve spent a fair bit on this NGA program I imagine, what’s been the return?
Borlace is on the crest of something really special.

I would love to see a list of the clubs who have benefited most from the father-son and nga programs. My guess is we would be in the bottom 4.
