The ability to pre-list players in their 17th year, spread across two years (year prior to the inaugural list build year = players eligible to play in TDFC entry year in AFL competition, and year of inaugural list build year = players eligible to play in TDFC second year in AFL competition).

The provision of two (2) draft selections for two (2) Mini-Drafts of 17-year-old players (i.e, four selections in total – two each in years immediately prior to TDFC entry year and TDFC entry year), with the requirement for those picks to be traded. Lynch had a massive back ended contract of $1.5 mil in 2025 and Dusty's was around $1.3 in 2024
But we had retirements in 2023 of players like Riewoldt , Cotchin , Tarrant and massive departures in 2024 off the cap

We would have easily paid 20%-30% and banked 5% in 2024
2025 We literally have very low contracts to pay and would have front loaded all our long term contracts like
Hopper , Taranto , Balta ,Short , Vlastuin , Nankervis significantly

Bolton, Rioli and Baker were supposed to be getting paid in the last year. All that had to be taken by others.

If we can get a few breakout years from some of the kids that would go a long way to solving our problems.

Heath Mellody, not to be confused with Will Malady, looks to be one of the top prospects from WA in next years draft pool. In the Futures game on grand final day he played mostly on a wing, holding his width well and showing elite running power (both endurance and pace) to burn off his man and continually find space, allowing him to be used regularly as an outlet by his teammates and finding a significant amount of the ball. While his disposal was a little off here, typically Mellody is a penetrating and accurate kick of the footy.

We will look at Special K this year as a rookie ( some believe he is the preferred choice out of the 2 we have training)

And much rather we get a ready made under 24/25 year old thats been developed at another club

That presupposes a decent Ruck is on the market and wants to play for Richmond.

I hope Richmond uses the Rookie list to recruit Colonel K.
