I cant see RFC taking a Ruck with a top 5 pick unless he is really something very special
We will look at Special K this year as a rookie ( some believe he is the preferred choice out of the 2 we have training)

And much rather we get a ready made under 24/25 year old thats been developed at another club

An interesting watch for Arki Butler fans, one of the few this year where he played the majority of the game through the midfield rather than as a small forward. Assume hes talking a 1st and 2nd rounder. Doubt Edwards is a 2nd rounder though.

Imagine adding 2 explosive mid/fwds to Hotton & Grlj. Would be unfair

When looking at the 2026 draft I’m looking at the current list and also think a combination of best available and also need like we did in 2025. The other thing that I think might be interesting is trying to get an extra R1 pick in 2026, I looking at say Essendon to give them capacity to match a Bewick bid in 2027 eg Rich get R1 26 from Essendon and give R1 27 .

HB: Banks Balta Trainor
C: xxx Smillie Grlj
HF: Campbell Faull Hotton
FF: xxx Armstrong xxx
Fol: xxx Lalor Cumming
INT: Brown Sims Taranto xxx xxx

Not completely sold on yet Algar, Clarke

Where I think we need to look at:

• midfield rotation I see us needing another 1-2 midfielders
• a wing that covers the ground supports defence and moves the ball forward
• a top level forward pocket/pressure player
• a no. 1 ruck, I’m not sold on Sims as the no. 1, great as a back up and forward

What 2026 draft could look like ignoring Walker and Dougie:

• if Arki Butler can show some good signs in the midfield he would be a great target. Alternatively we target midfield like Archie Van Dyke or other?
• Tanner Armstrong as a R2 pick
• if we could snag Essendons R1 I would target Harry Van Hattum as a big physical ruck
