11 home and away games at the MCG is very unexpectedly positive especially with 5 away games. It’s been a very long time since we’ve had that. Even the Port game at Marvel is in the fan friendly Saturday slot too
You're a quick one. I deleted after realising I read the sen fixture wrong
Yet we play 4 home games in Tasmania, 1 in Adelaide and still have to play at Marvel. So 6 non-MCG home games.

As someone with school age kids who lives 4 hours away, I agree.
No Darwin is huge. It’s a guaranteed loss.
We also have a contract with the afl to not play home games at marvel whilst we have games in tassie.
The club doesnt fight the league on it, so i expect there is a nice little kickback to the club that we arent aware of (since we started playing a home game at marvel, weve been fortunate to host essendon or carlton most years - something that didnt happen before then).

Fair bit of travel in the last month leading up to the finals. Means that top 6 position is going to be all the more important to keep our selves fresh in September.

Great run home but I think a tough round 24 fixture would be more advantageous heading into finals..
Even though we lost v Lions this year, I thought that game was as close to a finals like cauldron and the perfect prep.

The more I look at this fixture the better it gets.
Those last ten games are the best second half of a season I think I have ever seen us get.
Even the start of the season isnt a nightmare start like we had this year.
Zero excuses in 2026 for not finishing top 4 (from a fixture perspective at least).

Must be tough
Pretty clear the AFL and networks would be pretty stocked if we are competing. This is the advantage of drawing large crowds and ratings and importantly, having a much better relationship with the AFL.
