Guessing kings birthday Melbourne and will keep the July game on the GC.
Carlton tends to be early in the year rd 3 or 4.
Probably want to open with a grudge match so maybe Adelaide at the ao or g in rd 1.

And predictably after quietly abolishing the 6-6-6 rule (two double ups from each third of the ladder) …we are the victims of this relaxed watered down policy.

We only have one double up against a bottom six side and four against a top six side …. Who finished 1,2 4 and 5 after adjusting for finals results last year.

At least the bottom 6 side finished 18th… been a few years since we’ve been given a double up against a genuine basket case

When was the 6-6-6 fixture rule abolished? Was it officially announced by the AFL?

Absolute farce.

Sound our first official home game is round 1 and then we don't have an official home game at the G until round 8?

Fixture doesn't look too bad though? Happy with double ups with Carlton and West Coast. We'll know early on if we're good enough because we should beat; St.Kilda, Adelaide, GWS (they suck at Marvel), Freo, Essendon and Carlton.

They will have wanted home games for Round 8 and 9 for Pendles game record

Annoying that we stop getting bombers and dees twice a year when they both turn rubbish.
Would of preffered wc at marvel and giants at the G but happy we get wc twice regardless.

Overall not a bad fixture only one 5 day break against the hawks but they will be coming off the same break.

Funny we get Crows for their opening game and Rankine is still suspended for 1 more match 😄

It seems that we always get a super tough draw at the end of the season,Geelong get a soft end to the season, and Carlton gets a lot of prime time games they clearly don’t deserve. So nothing ever changes with the AFL.

Don't mind it. Tough on first look double ups but you never know how everyone will go. Could be surprises. No guarantee Adelaide Geelong or Hawthorn will be top 4 again. West Coast will battle again. So will Carlton.
Good spread of interstate games through the year standard 14 mcg games 3 marvel (the North "home "game but that happens every year.
Away MCG games against saints and cats are good.
Crows lions swans Eagles Suns interstate is tough but doable to go 4-1. Freo gather round avoids Perth.
Liking this. Bring on 2026
