5k tops. Most sparse GWS crowd since COVID.Austadiums have the GWS / StK crowd as 9,149.
That would make the total for the 7 games of Round 2 as 264,615.
Not too shabby without Collingwood or Carlton playing. Standouts were the terrific Adelaide and WC crowds, but most were pretty good.

It wasn't that bad, they opened all the upper decks around the ground so most of the crowd moved up there. If you only saw highlights of the game you probably wouldn't have known that.5k tops. Most sparse GWS crowd since COVID.

money talks. Vic Shield games tend to be played at the Junction Oval early in the season.I thought our contract with the MCG ends on the 1st Saturday in October and then the Cricket takes over?
great crowd, honestly thought it would struggle to get 40k47,083 for WC vs North at Optus

Still early days (and we’ve been burnt by fully ticketed games already) but Hawthorn v Geelong is selling a lot faster than past years.
Tickets are already being sold halfway up the back of the Ponsford Stand which two weeks out from match day is a lot quicker than Carl v Rich and Ess v Haw (and Geel v Haw last year).

Last year drew 88,746, I’m not sure this will draw that but it could draw in the mid 80,000’s.
In the past, absolutely. Hawthorn has taken six bays back from reserve seating so the bottom deck is much busier than pre 2025. There were games back in the day where the crowd was 75,000 to 80,000 and the bottom deck was 2/3 full. The new configuration looks much better on TV as Thursday showed. As it should. Shaping up to be a blockbuster. They rarely ever disappoint too.
Do hawks suffer the same as Collingwood and bigger Melbourne clubs with higher reserved seats holders than Geelong would in this fixture?

Who needs a electronic system counting tickets. Just employ Jack Mundy in the crowd to physically count everyone and them round it to the nearest 1000.I was there. 4k
I suspect the weather would've easily knocked 15% off the potential crowd.Relax people, the GWS crowd was fine considering the stormy weather. Was spread out more across the top levels thanks to the weather. Usually those top levels are closed, so it looked a little more sparse on the lower deck.
Plus a lot of competition in the area that night with the Matilda's Asian Cup final and the Kings NBL Grand Final.
It's a problem that it's such a long gap now until their next game at Engie (not until May), but hopefully they can be getting 10k+ for each game over the rest of the season depending on how things are going.
Must count tickets given away?! Ground would be near half full at that number.

I wasn't. Which is why im choosing to believe the official count rather than someone eyeballing it.Were you there?!

Yeah agree it didn’t even look close to being half fullStadium sits 22k. 9k and it would look half full. 4k was my guess.
