If Alex can up his game a bit, he could start to worry Alcaraz.

What is it with Carlos and Melbourne Park? Why does he always have a couple of matches at this event where he is well below his best?

Are the conditions taking the players by surprise?

so many balls flying long

This isn't a great match. Both players playing well below their best.

If it's unorthodox conditions it should suit Carlos a lot more.

Zverev is just being himself late in a GS.

Sick of Alc vs Sinner finals already. The next Rafa vs Fed duel we need the next Djokovic to come through.

I fear for Zverev in the third set if he chokes this second set away.

If Carlos goes two sets up, Zverev will break mentally and will be vulnerable to surrender the third set 6-1 similar to ADM two nights ago.

If Zverev still manages to win the second set, it's game on. Zverev's mindset will be a lot different which should transition into more relaxed and composed hitting.

Commentary talking about how Novak should be the favourite tonight.
Not on channel 9.

Jim and Lleyton shared their thoughts about tonight being Sinner's match to lose.

I fear he's gone mentally already after squandering that 5-2 lead. I think he loses in straights. Hope I'm wrong.

I heard differently to that.

"This is Novak's house. It is a night match which is his specialty and should favour him"
LOL come on now

They said the night conditions will favour both of them.

They're clearly not saying Novak is favourite. Rewind the commentary and you'll hear Jim and Lleyton both mention they think Sinner will win.

Although it's looking like that, I reckon if Zverev wins the second set (always a chance in a tiebreak) after just holding serving after fending off a double break point, the momentum will shift again.

I hope so.
