I feel like we are finally starting to trend in the right direction. New president Welsh & he has bought with him some strong ex players (Soloman/Richards) with him plus a bit of a player clean out this year & some new faces still to come in via the draft. Right now I've got our best available 23 (plus emergencies) looking something like;-
Ridley McKay McGrath
Redman Reid Roberts
Fiorini Caldwell Duursma
Perkins Caddy Kako
2MP Langford Gresh
Blaki Durham Merrett
Parish Tsatas Clarke Johnson Guelfi
Emergency: Prior Nguyen May McMahon
Injured: Hayes Cox Martin Bryan
We clearly need a lift out of the players in bold (or to find replacements)- but the good thing is ALL of them are out of contract at the end of 2026..!! I think if we can keep most of that 23 on the park for the majority of 2026 we will finish in the 8 - 15 ladder range (remembering we get to plug Martin and Bryan back into the 23 at some stage). I feel like all going well we can make a serious challenge for the finals in 2027. Things can only get better from here..!!

Agree, i think one of mcgrath/roberts will always be used further up the ground and thrown around more so it opens up a small defender spot for nguyen/Johnson.Unless something goes astray I am seeing Nguyen in the side for round 1.

The way it's going, he'll be lamenting what could've been long after Caldwell is finished, too.Its a hill hes dieing on
Hayes and Reid is interesting. I'm not sure Hayes has the strength for it, has he?Going Full Bevo with the magnets and I don’t hate it.

You're very optimistic.
I don't think 'seriously challenging for finals' is actually a serious thing anymore.
Sorry, I mistook 'seriously challenging for finals' for 'seriously challenging in finals.'You only have to finish 10th to challenge for finals - so we are a small chance in 2026 if everything goes right - if not then certainly by 2027 we should be targeting finals
It is nowSorry, I mistook 'seriously challenging for finals' for 'seriously challenging in finals.'
Really though, finishing 10th doesn't mean much. It's not serious.

Maybe to you it is.It is now
Same as finishing 7th/8th/9th.
Get to play another week.
It will be 1000% serious when the game rolls around.
B Ridley - McKay - PriorWith trade period done I think we at least have a reasonable idea of what the list will look like. I need to refresh myself on how the injury front looks for round 1 though... Assuming no Martin, I don't remember how bad any of the other timelines were. Is Bryan still going to be out? Hayes?
Honestly this is wayyyy harder than I thought, trying to juggle the incumbents and the guys who came on in leaps and bounds this year.
B Ridley - McKay - Prior (Hayes)
HB McGrath - Reid - Redman
C Duursma - Caldwell - Roberts
HF Kako - Caddy - Langford
F Perkins - Wright - Guelfi
R Blakiston (Bryan) - Merrett - Durham
Int. Parish - Fiorini - Clarke - Nguyen - Tsatas
Emg. Johnson - Visentini - Setterfield - Gresham
Would like to see Johnson take Prior's spot. Setterfield is probably ahead of Tsatas but I'll give pick 5 one last shot.
Edit - CBF'd doing musical chairs changing all the spots now but I'd much rather see McGrath in the middle than down back.
