If it isn't clear... I would love to ask them exactly that?

I have outlined exactly and with specificity why I feel Bont was better in 23 and 24 and I have not gotten a shred of actual evidence to the contrary
What sort of evidence are you looking for exactly? A secret Mossad report? We've given you everything

You've given me a list of opinion of what you think he is the best at based on your eye test
Impact
Vision
Awareness
Positioning
Skills

You have given accolade polling numbers, with an emphasis on brownlow polling, which I have both outlined issues with the process itself and the season specifically where I outlined why I disregard it
Lol wasn't Daicos actually LEADING the Brownlow count before his injury? Not sure what point you're pushing here, doesn't make any sense

And a few more
Maybe ask yourself how a washed-up team of crap veterans that finished 17th somehow won a flag 2 years later? For starters

Yep podium finishes 👌 yes they matter 😆

Did you watch the SOO?

He's easily the best and he's nowhere near his peak

Luckily the season starts soon and these arguments will be settled pretty quickly

None of that is evidence, it is opinion, and the one that is (brownlow polling 2023 pre-injury) I have already addressed.

If you really want to talk about award polling, explain why Lachie Ash was BOG at SOO. We both know that "evidence" like that isn't evidence at all.

What sort of evidence are you looking for exactly?
I would like for literally anyone to look at some data to do with actual on-field performance and point out exactly what I have gotten wrong.

Coaches, umpires, media outlets have had Daicos the superior performer to Bont over the last 3 years, with the players splitting their votes over the same time period.

Apologies if I disagree with your opinion, and I'm not sure what further 'evidence' is required...

Daicos was BOG at the SOO 👍

He's set for another epic season 😎 good luck trying to pick holes in it again 😀

Cute gotcha.

But Lachie Ash wasn't BOG in the State game.

He was awarded the EJ Whitten Medal by the Victorian coaches.

The majority view was that Daicos was BOG. Or at minimum Victoria's best. An explanation as to why he missed out on the Medal:

Nothing wrong with disagreeing mate! That's what BF is for, footy chat. Not sure if it is all Collingwood fans but it just seems like you two especially won't (or can't ;)) back up what you say with anything substantial.

Like I said before I rate Daicos, and do think he will be the best player in the game sooner rather than later. And I guess it is just down to using other people's opinion as a basis for judgement like you guys do vs your own and numbers. Nothing wrong with that! Everyone has a different style and way of looking at the game.

No hate here

Old mate wanting us to justify the umpires giving him votes in 2023, when in old mate's opinion he wasn't worthy, despite Daicos being the odds on favourite for the Brownlow from round 8 through to Brownlow night, despite missing the last 3 games due to injury....

Oh boy.

Yeah, no backing up what we're saying...

We're just referencing the opinions of coaches, umpires, players and the media.

But that's not 'substantial'.

Oh boy

Well... yeah?

All I asked is for someone to point at the stats and tell me why Nick's were better than Bont's and no one did it.

Not really a hard ask I would've thought?

Sorry, I don't watch a game from a stats sheet.
And you don't have to mate, you can do both.

That is the exact same logic that saw Rowell win the medal. In 2025 I actually think thats the reason Nick didn't win, is because the umpires didn't have access to the stats. Same reason Nas didn't get the 3.

It's the first time I've ever seen anyone question his 2023 output 😲

Not questioning his output at all, great season, just not one that I would give a brownlow too for reasons I have already outlined.

The specific conversation was his 2023 brownlow case vs Bont, which I also previously explained.

Can't recall anyone ever pointing to Judd's stats back in his Eagles days, he was just considered to be the game's best player, people know what they're seeing
Wouldn't change anything as he has great stats!

Paul Licuria's STaTZ > Chris Judd's STaTZ.
Really showing my age, I had to google who that was, his numbers are worse.

No different to Pendlebury or Selwood who were never the best players in the game at any point in their careers.
Daicos sits in the same boat.

Can you give me a list of players who have been Brownlow favourite for 90% of the time over a 3 year period in the same way Daicos has been since round 3 of 2023?

Go.

I'm not interested about Brownlow betting odds. I'm specifically talking about the best players in the game right now. You say Daicos is number one but there are 10 other players who you pick before him.

Even players who have not yet done much in their short careers have substantially more upside than Daicos. Horne-Francis, Humphrey, Reid, Sheezel, Wanganeen-Milera, Darcy.

Daicos is a gun but some of the Collingwood supporters carry on as though he's second coming of Christ.

There's that word again.... 'Upside'!

Daicos is not a prolific or effective tackler either - if he doesn't win the ball the opposition move it out with ease.

He also hasn't reached a stage where he has ridiculous goal, goal assist or score involvement averages. Certainly nothing that stands him out above the crowd of elite mids. Bont has hit higher marks in those areas while being better at the contested + tough stuff. He's a strong tackler who neutralises contests when he doesn't win first possession, helps defend opposition attacks better and obviously has that aerial advantage.Pr

Rob Harvey from 95 through to 98. The only reason he didn't win 3 in those 4 years was because he missed 6 games in 95. Lucky to win in 97 but he was favorite for a long period.
