Maybe Tomorrow and I did contemplate asking for the percentage of time Elijah was in your team but we thought better of it

Easy to get hyper focused on a player because of SC vested interest, but even Luke Hodge (think it was) was saying they should just give him a block, sink or swim, but play him in position, give him continuity and the rest is up to him.
Deficiencies or otherwise, playing him out of position / on minimal TOG is obviously ****ing stupid. 🤷‍♂️

So, fwiw, have seen 39% in two places, 33% and 27%
And different people's opinions on heat maps.
For what it is worth, the Freako fella was up and about,

If he does, it shows how much of a joke these heat maps are. Definitely not 26% of heat in defence.

But wouldn't that also indicate even if he was in the red zone and the ball was in Geelong's F50, he is technically in a defensive position. That's how I'm reading it?

If that's the way they apply it, every winger if the comp would qualify for DPP.

No it can’t be like that. It’s not Forward vs Defence, it’s Forward vs Midfield vs Defence from a SuperCoach perspective. The red zone is midfield.

It's not based on heat maps though, it's starting positions and stoppages.
That doesn’t make sense. There’s only 60-65 stoppages per game. Are they saying that if you stand somewhere 20 times a game for 10 seconds when the game is stopped, that’s your position, and what happens when the ball is in play is irrelevant?

If true, that’s a terrible system.

AFL averages is 87.5 ruck contests per game this year.

It's got to be based on something.

Was meant to be 65. That was why they made the last touch rule.

The query from club land has been whether a last disposal rule would kill the ruck. However, there still would have been 67 stoppages per game on average in 2025 based on the adapted numbers. That would have brought it back in line with the AFL's 2023 and 2024 averages.

Would have thought heap map was a better metric to base it on. IE: Where the player actually plays during the game. You’re probably right though, as silly as it might be, as it looks like he’s made DPP.

It was 97.8 last year, so it has dropped

Thanks for the clarity. :thumbsupv1:
