My understanding is that we don't hold any 2026 Carlton draft picks. The second round picks we got back from them were for 2025 and 2027. So where they finish this season doesn't have a direct effect.*

* A higher finish this year gets them a tougher draw for next year (at least in theory) so maybe is better for the expected value of the 2027 future second that we hold.
Nothing from the Curnow deal, but we have their 3rd round pick from the Florent trade

This is the problem. The second a player starts thinking about a big pay day, he instantly puts himself into trade territory no matter how much he wants to stay. I have no doubt if he was happy to take a fair return in order to stay the deal would be done by now and a fair deal is about $750k
The Parties deal is almost entirely dependent on what happens with Ben King and Jed Walter, so you won't hear anything from us or him until they are resolved.

I think he is naturally about a round ahead of the rest at the moment, so I used him as the likely example of the first bid on.
McCartney is going to nominate North Melbourne under father son and the club knows this and have done so for at least 12 months.

Weird given that 10 months ago McCartney was given a VFL game, if the Swans knew that it was a lost cause they wouldn't have given him a game.

Jason has also gone on radio multiple times to say he has no clue which way he is going to go. (Yes Jason could be bluffing but the Swans actions make no sense late last year)
