Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?

Nothing from the Curnow deal, but we have their 3rd round pick from the Florent tradeMy understanding is that we don't hold any 2026 Carlton draft picks. The second round picks we got back from them were for 2025 and 2027. So where they finish this season doesn't have a direct effect.*
* A higher finish this year gets them a tougher draw for next year (at least in theory) so maybe is better for the expected value of the 2027 future second that we hold.
So basically have a draft hand of like 40, 45 & 50 going into the draftNothing from the Curnow deal, but we have their 3rd round pick from the Florent trade

Yeah but you know that compo picks will push them all backWe currently hold 35, 42, 44 (and 70 from the Serong trade)
Oh, 100%Yeah but you know that compo picks will push them all back
I wouldn't be shocked if all we did is sat on those picks and if McCartney hasn't been bid on just shift them back and try and pick up F3s or somethingOh, 100%
Your picks are probably closer to the mark
So largely irrelevant where Carlton finish then.Nothing from the Curnow deal, but we have their 3rd round pick from the Florent trade

Why McCartney?I wouldn't be shocked if all we did is sat on those picks and if McCartney hasn't been bid on just shift them back and try and pick up F3s or something
I think he is naturally about a round ahead of the rest at the moment, so I used him as the likely example of the first bid on.Why McCartney?
Very true, if he is back for the last 2-3 VFL games it could be telling if he plays a game for one of the sidesMcCartney has to nominate us first
You might have to keep posting that for a couple who keep persistingMcCartney has to nominate us first
McCartney has to nominate us first
Potentially has made his decision internally but neither club knows at the moment, or at least thats my thinking/understandingI thought he was 100% North bound? did it change recently
So not even worth talking about till we knowPotentially has made his decision internally but neither club knows at the moment, or at least thats my thinking/understanding
I thought he was 100% North bound? did it change recently
Yep but I don't think we need to have to put in brackets (hasn't exactly chosen us or NM) for every mention of McCatney is mentionedSo not even worth talking about till we know
You could just use M from the Academy and that would take care of Meaney, McGroder, Medved and McCartneyYep but I don't think we need to have to put in brackets (hasn't exactly chosen us or NM) for every mention of McCatney is mentioned
The Parties deal is almost entirely dependent on what happens with Ben King and Jed Walter, so you won't hear anything from us or him until they are resolved. This is the problem. The second a player starts thinking about a big pay day, he instantly puts himself into trade territory no matter how much he wants to stay. I have no doubt if he was happy to take a fair return in order to stay the deal would be done by now and a fair deal is about $750k
McCartney is going to nominate North Melbourne under father son and the club knows this and have done so for at least 12 months.I think he is naturally about a round ahead of the rest at the moment, so I used him as the likely example of the first bid on.
Correct, the club has known for at least 12 months that he intends to nominate North Melbourne.I thought he was 100% North bound? did it change recently
So who keeps bringing it upMcCartney is going to nominate North Melbourne under father son and the club knows this and have done so for at least 18 months.
Weird given that 10 months ago McCartney was given a VFL game, if the Swans knew that it was a lost cause they wouldn't have given him a game.McCartney is going to nominate North Melbourne under father son and the club knows this and have done so for at least 12 months.
I brought it up, but I'm just an uninformed nobody that hadn't heard he intended to pick north or I wouldn't have bothered mentioning him.So who keeps bringing it up
