Hanily was selected in the 2024 mid season draft. So this is his third season on the rookie list as far as I can tell. Is there a maximum number of years you are allowed to be on the rookie list these days?

Non-Swans note but Dougie Cochrane has gone in for knee surgery, missing 12 weeks or so (National Champs). Wonder if it will have a material impact on his draft range, cause I reckon he was odds on at the moment to be Top 3.

Wonder if that will have a major impact on the draft.

Still after all that it probably impacts us the least out of all clubs as we have no 1st rounder

Yer will be nuts to just hand over Amartey for a lousy 2nd rounder especially after all the development we put in him!!

Is this going off immediate ability or future projection? Because Hanily being placed last ludicrous. I think Rosas is only just scraping the selection line over him. Cootee is still an unknown prospect and Dattoli is still green.
If a small forward is required or Rosas is dropped, id take it to the bank that Hanily is next up. I'll back him to earn a contract I think he's grossly underrated, and I rekn the coaches rate him highly.

I know but just reading into it, you had to name someone last and opted with him, and most probably would as default. I rekn it's because there's a bit of lack of romance around the thought of him, rookie selection, not a loud character, doesn't have a smooth Italian surname ya know.
Not having a crack, I just think that's the general vibe with him and I rekn he'll surprise a few.

I like Datolli and stuff about his dad. I love Paps. I like what Rosas is doing.

Yep only signed a one year lease on his WA property so his brother can live in it next year. Wouldn't read too much into it.

As a UFA there is no universe we will get “overs”.

I think this is why the swans kept Warner as a RFA next year. I think w will hold off resigning ppl to keep TPP so we can match any bid and force a decent trade…. In Tassie year compo picks are worthless

We're in a pretty good position with Amartey.

He seems to want to stay. We should be offering him a decent deal.

But if some desperate Vic team wants to come along and offer him a huge deal, we should let him go and take the compo pick.

At some point, we need to start bringing in some draft picks or we are going to badly exposed if a decent academy kid comes along.

If he gets through a year by all means keep him but we have to be realistic here he never has. I expect him to sign again with us anyway but if the club did sell, there would be reasons.

Other than being injured for most of the year/if not all (can't remember) then no. He hasn't publicly made his choice of North or Sydney yet to my knowledge

Yep will probably imo fall into the 40-50s range. Think Liam Hetherton could be a decent example of the path he will follow in terms of his draft range. But then again who knows what will happen in 6 months time or so

There will be teams who make a play for Amartey. He's worth it. He wants to stay, we just have to make a decent offer.
