Article provides a brief description of the most likely draft hopefuls from the WA Colts system - including the following West Coast Father/Sons and NGA tied players listed below:

The son of two-time premiership Eagle Drew and younger brother of St Kilda draftee Charlie, Harper is hoping to become the Banfield’s latest AFL star. He’s smaller than his brother, but he’s a competitor with elite endurance. His sprinting and agility have also improved significantly in the last six months, suiting a half-forward, midfield role.
Farmer is out for revenge in 2026 after missing Claremont’s premiership. The West Coast NGA prospect kicked nine goals from seven games as a bottom-age player and he was also a train-on with the State 18s quad.
The son of 2006 West Coast premiership player Michael, Noah is a goalkicking midfielder-forward who has had some big games for Claremont last year. Is pushing to make WA’s 18s squad after missing out on the summer training block.
An attacking halfback who is part of West Coast’s Next Generation Academy, Kenh announced himself as one to watch a couple of years ago after winning WA’s MVP award at the Under-16 national championships. Originally from Liberia in West Africa, Kenh takes the game on with his speed and agility. He’s also trained with West Coast as part of national academy commitments.
Exciting, agile and crafty, McGlade is everything you want in a small forward. The Eagles NGA prospect likes to take the game on with his run and carry, making him one of the Royals’ most exciting players to watch. Kicked five in one game last year and will be hoping another good start to the year will cement his spot in the state squad.
Is linked to West Coast as an NGA prospect and the Eagles would be pleased with Lee’s development. The developing tall has grown a few centimetres of late and grown into his body. His athleticism has been on show at summer squad training, finishing third in the running vertical leap at pre-season testing.
Another Eagles NGA prospect, Ketchup isn’t just another condiment. The electric forward has an unbelievable work rate, clean skills and he always knows where the goals are. Ketchup plays his best footy at half-forward, but he can also push into the midfield when needed.
The West Coast NGA prospect missed most of last year with a stress fracture in his back but made an impact in the last four games of the season. Perera has been training with the State summer squad and his smarts and speed make him one to watch.
The West Coast NGA prospect is known for his speed, power and X-factor. The Karratha product played in the State trial game recently and will be one to watch this year.
Not mentioned in the article, but is a potential KPD from Swan Districts in our NGA who was on the radar of some posters last year

Interesting
I watched him online recently and thought the same, very much a Weitering type FB.

Have you seen anything of T Bradley of VM or M Harris SA, both KPD's?

See it year in year out, KPDs slide. He looks a tad slow, so I personally think that's the reason he slides to 40s.

Who are the top key defenders expected to be drafted in first 2 rounds

Haven't seen Harris, but seen Bradley.

He's a big thick set lad, but not slow and great competitor with nice skills. He's one that has been mentioned much at all, keen to see how he fairs at champs.

I'd have Snell ahead of him, and Ladbrook. Although with Ladbrook he does some things so well and other times doesn't look great, want him to lift this competitiveness. He had the tools, but sometimes doesn't launch to kill it when it's not his man.

Appreciate your insights.
Seems Snell & Ladbrook are the leading KPD’s this stage.

A stat stuffing performance from Hugh McCallum who's started to generate some draft hype with his excellent play in recent weeks for the Devils. He played on a wing through the first three quarters and provided strong two way outside run with the endurance to both get himself into dangerous attacking space forward and fold back defensively. He moved on ball for the last quarter, showing he can impact at the coal face in spite of his slight frame. The four goals were a highlight, and his kicking skills were solid if perhaps lacking a little penetration.

Our dumb asses are gonna be getting an extra pick and we didn't even do anything. What a league! Slowly getting back all the picks we pissed away for Kelly.
That's it for me for the year lads. I'm only coming back to post AFLW Eagles stuff but as far as the men's side goes I'm scorched.

Catch everyone come finals time

A big performance from Harvey Spawton-Guy who not only found a stack of the footy but also showed his versatility as a big man playing on all three lines in the one game. For the first three quarters he played in the ruck where he competed hard without winning a lot of hit outs, his excellent follow up work allowing him to win a lot of possessions at ground level as well as roaming and presenting as a marking target around the ground. He rested forward at times and presented strongly inside F50, then in the last quarter played as a key defender again looking imperious in the air and repelling a number of opposition entries. His size and aerial strength is impressive, and he possesses a penetrating kick.

HSG is another potential key defender
I just watched HSG R3 colts game and he looks impressive behind the ball, still a bit of growing into his body by the look but that was an impressive game.
Good scout:thumbsu:

Hodgson Weitering comparison is he is a bigger bodied FB type and a little slower than the athletic KPD's.

Would’ve been better if last year was the deep draft that 2024 was.

We had 4 x First Rounders and 2 x Second Rounders pre-draft.
For the Lindsay and Allen picks yes - but by all accounts we got the standout best 2 open pool players in a shallow draft. It actually helped us with it being weak outside of a few stars as other teams will have fallen behind. We got lucky that Lindsay was a steal.

If you have pointy picks you want a shallow draft to get an advantage over the competition. If you have picks 5, 21 and 22 you want a Murphy Reid or Shanahan to be available at the later picks.
