So well balanced. Would just love a great small forward. The double ups seem pretty hard.
But then I think of
Our midfield: Rowell - Anderson - Miller - Petracca - Humphrey - Witts - Graham - Zeke - Lombard - Rogers - Weller - Clohesy
And our half backs: Rioli - Noble - Powell - Jeffrey - Patterson
Kicking it to these forwards: King - JUH - Long - Walter - Read
Backed up by: Collins - Ballard - Andrew - Uwland
And think we have ability to win any game.
Dusty says g'day......for 1 yr anyway til Jake takes over...So well balanced. Would just love a great small forward.
We'll very likely start as the favourites in all matches except for (maybe) opening round against the Cats. So 6-0 is definitely possible.Josh Barnes from Herald Sun has Suns in predicted ladder after six rounds on top 6:0.
Darwin is a choice by the clubFrequent flyers: How long each AFL team will spend in the air during 2026
The West Coast Eagles will rule the skies of the AFL world in 2026 - literally. The club is set to rack up nearly nine more hours in the air than any other team next season, and over 15 more hours than the closest non-Western Australia based club.
Their estimated total time in air of 78 hours and 40 minutes exceeds Fremantle's 69 hours and 50 minutes, dethroning the Dockers, who had held the title in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Gold Coast will make the most trips across Australia next year, with 12 return flights seeing them accumulate 63 hours and 25 minutes in the air. It's the second year in a row they rank first in this category, being the only club to make 12 return flights last season.
It's not like we are financially independent club. I suspect AFL pushed us into it to make money as we are owned by AFL and depend on AFL money. We got highest AFL contribution.Darwin is a choice by the club
Remove the Darwin games from our schedule and replace them with games at PFS and we go from 12 return flights + 63 hours in the air to a near identical situation to a near identical situation with Brisbane which becomes 11 return flights + 55 hours in the air (Brisbane have the same return flights and one less hour in the air).Darwin is a choice by the club
What often happen when clubs aren't performing particularly well is the AFL starts to view them as a vehicle to grow the game in smaller markets and the clubs are incentivised to do so because of the money on offer. It's been the case with us for a while and it's why we're the ones that were sent to places like China. In fact, we're seeing it right now with Richmond agreeing to a deal to play games in Hobart and the same was the case 15 years ago when they agreed to play games in Cairns. The same can be said about North playing games in WA, Melbourne playing games in the NT and Hawthorn weren't doing very well when they originally agreed to the Launceston deal. It's not like we are financially independent club. I suspect AFL pushed us into it to make money as we are owned by AFL and depend on AFL money. We got highest AFL contribution.
Now with more wins, playing finals we should attract more sponsors, make more money from crowd, merchandise.
While I enjoy wins at Darwin it cost us in following games. We got tough fixture after bye post Darwin.
Hopefully we can reduce it to only one game or ideally no games starting 2027.

I reckon we would've already reduced/stopped playing games in Darwin if we weren't undefeated when we play home games there. The fact that we're yet to lose a home game there does make it more difficult to walk away. Two games is too many but Darwin has been good for us, including prime time channel 7 games the last couple of years. We just don't get many of them
A Friday night channel 7 game during indigenous round against a good Vic oppo followed by our bye or a Sunday game the next round? Can live with that.
