🚨 LEAK ALERT 🚨

Bulldogs V Essendon on Easter Sunday night.

That’s the best we can do for leaks today, just 2 days out from fixture release day.
I thought the massacre was supposed to happen on Good Friday?

because irrelevant low crowd clubs have to sell their home games to survive

I really dislike the four games we play in Tasmania (especially with the capacity at 10,000) but to say Hawthorn is an irrelevant low drawing club is inaccurate. Not when they drew 1,000,000 plus to home and away games despite the four games in Tasmania. They drew 60,000 plus to their 14 regular season games in Melbourne also.

In an ideal world Hawthorn would be playing 11 games in Melbourne and giving West Coast and Fremantle more exposure to the MCG. It would make the competition far fairer and give Hawthorn members far better value for money.

Presumably locks Essendon and the Dogs into the Sunday slots for Gather Round. I can’t see Essendon playing at the Barossa or Norwood though (given their enormous drawing power).

7-5 against teams we played twice
10-1 against sides we played once.

You whinge a lot but if you change our double ups, we would just get more wins anyway.

It's because you went 2-4 against the teams that were in the top 6 bracket, and 5-1 against teams in the middle and bottom 6.

So yes, if you change your double ups against the better teams you played, you might've ended up with more wins.

Probably play Geelong on the Sunday. Just give us two hidings in a row, ruin the year.

Given St Kilda have been removed from Easter Sunday (the week before Gather Round) it tells me that they’ll be on Thursday or Friday night at Gather Round.

Dare I say it - Adelaide V St Kilda, Thursday night.
Saints got the Opening Round marquee game so they are fine.

That's the whisper I've heard as well

Risky move from the saints.

All things being equal, they should comfortably beat the pies, but opting to play them at their home ground makes it more even.

They cannot afford to have a poor start with their recent recruiting spree. Ross will be under enormous pressure if that happens.

I highly doubt Ross gives a shit about so called pressure from numpties in the media or elsewhere

Carlton has got the rough end of the pineapple, playing the Crows twice for Gather Round - if the AFL was genuine about equality, they would have rotated the sides playing Adelaide and Port.
Need to wait til full fixture is revealed and to see full swings and roundabouts before declaring which team may have got the rough end of the pineapple.

Each premiership is awarded independently based on that single season only, the weird view of longer term "equality" is a weird one...2024 match-ups have no bearing on the 2026 premiership.

Is there any chance they start making clubs play an SA team twice at AO in the one year?

For example Carlton play Adelaide at Gather Round in a ‘neutral’ game and then play Adelaide later in an official away game later in the year.
