Port in Melbourne round 1

First time since Ben Brown's 10 goal haul in 2019 i believe

Essendon has Brisbane and Hawthorn (Top Six), St Kilda (Middle Six), Port Adelaide, Melbourne and North Melbourne (Bottom Six) as double ups.

I am done with playing north at mavel tho and our home game.

Doesnt make sense again.

Home mcg v north.

Good tho the marvel games are spread out tho.

2 early on and one at the back end.

Also my tips Collingwood beat both cats and hawks twice i 2026 by 6 goals.

The fixture is now so compromised with requests and requirements that you have these downstream effects that would not happen if elements of the league were truly random.

How is it that the Dogs are forced to play in Geelong literally every year and virtually never host a home game against them?

How is it that Melbourne, despite being one of the 8 teams that aren't playing opening round (and therefore don't have the benefit of a bye and therefore fewer games to their mid-season bye), are one of the 4 teams that have their bye in the last of the mid-season bye rounds, round 16? In fact, Melbourne have a 5, 7, 7 day break for the three weeks before that R15 matchup (ie not only do they play 15 games in a row without a rest, they don't even have a 8 or 9 day break to recover from). Whereas Adelaide get bye, 7, 9 day break the 3 weeks before that fixture. Not that Melbourne are likely to beat Adelaide in that game, but that game is almost a write off - if Melbourne are unlikely to make finals 15 games into the season, they'll be exhausted and their players with one eye towards their week off. Talk about scheduling an unfair, uncompetitive game into the fixture.

Brutal draw for the Dogs but no excuses. 3 trips in Adelaide in the first 9 rounds is bit silly.

Also not scheduling a home game against Geelong again is just mind boggling after not doing it last year to capitalise not the Bailey Smith grudge match.

North Melbourne only getting 1 FTA game in the first 15 weeks is a disgrace. I understand they’ve been a terrible team for a decade, but the FTA schedule needs to be fairer than this.

Carlton getting so many Thurs and Fri night games is insane. By round 10, the conversation will once again be on why they’re hogging the spotlight. We go through this every other year.
Whether we're winning or sucking, we still draw eyeballs. Oppo fans love hate watching us either way.

No Curnow vs the Blues at the G is a bloody disgrace.
Sydney must have some sort of agreement with the AFL that they just don't play us in Victoria. After OR, it will be 12/17 H+A games between the two clubs since start of 2013 in NSW. One of the remaining five at Metricon. Just the four in VIC.

Just quietly e'd rather play you guys than a few of our double ups.

No Curnow vs Carlton in Mel
No Smith vs Bulldogs in Mel for the 2nd year running
No JUH vs Bulldogs in Mel
No Oliver vs Melbourne in Mel

So stupid to have none of these
Can’t count the Jamarra one, who knows with him.

The Smith one is just mind boggling really, for a league that is so compromised to manufacturing outcomes when it comes to the fixture that is two years in a row now they have missed out on an obvious call.
