I don't agree with them ranking us as one of the hardest fixtures, I feel like we've been kissed on the dick.

Very happy with how ours turned out with the double ups.

Freo and Adelaide screwed over. Only 2 teams in the top 12 not getting looked after in opening round / extra bye and then they both have to play against an opponent with 1 week head start / AFL game under their belt. AFL loves comprising everything, as long as it's not a Good Vic team or Northern team coping it.

Max Laughton on twitter:
The 'not enough primetime games for Brisbane' thing is a bit misleading, a lot of their most interesting match-ups are post-Round 16 and will inevitably be primetime games if they're contenders
Also re: the Lions as @seanHPN points out, the Broncos won the NRL premiership and will get a million Friday night games, so they’re avoiding clashes there

The Dees not having a bye until round 16 is a joke, they are going to be running on fumes that last month. Similarly the Bombers and Eagles only getting one the week before.

Until last year we always had a bye after King's Birthday Monday which was common sense. Now we have a 5 day break into Essendon and then travel to Adelaide before the bye. That Adelaide game is going to be a disaster.

Saints don't leave Victoria after June 7th, wow.
Incredible ay

God help them if they do have to travel for a wildcard game or final though, their bodies will go into shock

I think maybe the noises they made about being unhappy with father-son rules and being bullies by bigger clubs convinced the AFL to hand them this back end of the draw

Cats finally got some tough double ups but still got the powder puff run into the finals we've come to expect.
Hand out the usual vicbias victim whinge and get the expected response.

It's staring you in the face.

Teams that get an advantage in Round 1 off the back of opening round rather than just playing a team who also did opening round.

Geelong
Carlton
Pies
Hawks
Saints
Suns

That's 5 Vic teams and a Nepo Baby, that doesn't even work in a hollywood movie but the AFL are full steam ahead.

Not sure why people complain about a games crossover.

Leagues far bigger than the AFL globally (EPL, NFL, NBA) all have weekly if not daily crossovers of games. Its not a thing.

Also pies barely leaving Victoria again i see.

Its stupid WA and SA don't host the OR as well.

It’s going to shock you.. but when most of the league is based in 1 state you don’t need to travel as much as other clubs based in other states

You're making a subjective assessment it's an advantage. Barring the Saints/Pies game the other Vic teams have those games as away fixtures. You're also making a subjective assessment playing in R1 having played R0 is an advantage. Their opponents will be fresh having not played a game.

So in summary, you're making a BS vicbias claim (you're a recidivist in this manner) based off two subjective valuations of what is advantageous.

Don't see you complaining that a Vic team has for a 2nd season in a row sold a home game that you benefit from.
