AFL have really bent us over with multiple 5 day break games this season.
Sure have, had 2 of them already come tonight, and 3 for the season.. man I despise Thursday games as well and our season is chock full of them.. makes the rest of the weekend so boring with no Cats games

Lot of Thursday night games but at least the first three (including tonight) are interstate Adel (Rd 13) and Freo (Rd 15)

Small plus for families is that the return Brisbane game falls during the school holiday period

Terrible draw, 50% of the Kardinia Park games Thursday or Friday night this year, is this the AFL's suttle way of reducing reserved seat purchases so more available to general public?

“While ideally we would have liked a better spread of timeslots for home games for our fans and members, the blockbuster Thursday night home game against the Brisbane Lions falls during school holidays and we are rapt with the Saturday twilight timeslot for the Essendon game as that has become a great timeslot particularly for kids and families."

Essentially politely saying we don't want the 'PRIMETIME' slots yet we're getting shoved into them anyway. Are we drawing huge TV audiences or what? Most clubs would be tripping over themselves but we can't get the humble Sat arvo slots. Hilarious.

All these Thursday games would rule a lot of people out of attending.
Thursday AND Friday nights are lost games to my family of memberships and season seats. I live on the otherside of the big Bay these days and I have young kids. It's such bullsh*t for someone who grew up in Geelong and remembers only weekend games. I get it, the AFL is all about media rights and ratings for $$$ but you look at crowds and they're lacking for a boutique stadium.

I dont think any club should be playing the amount of Thursday/Friday night footy we are playing:

Reason 1: Injury crisis and the team falls away in July.
Reason 2: All clubs deserve at least to get 1 or 2 goes at the two time slots.
Reason 3: Its not fair on members who dont live a stone throw from the venue.
Reason 4: Thursday night Football is about TV and other team supporters watching, we all need to take our turn not be involved and enjoy them as a neatural supporter.

We don't need Thursday nights throughout reduced game bye rounds

Ironically these fall over the holidays where crowds are more able to attend

But they are a great tv product, maybe should be reserved for Marvel games under the roof ?
