Welcome to the 2026 FJGD World Cup
As more teams start qualifying for the FIFA 2026 World Cup, it's time for you to put your name forward for the FJGD boards version!
This boards last instalment in 2018 had users design soccer kits. This time, we'll be designing Aussie Rules kits
How do I get involved? - NOTE: Expressions of interest have ended
All you have to do is reply to this thread with "In"!
How will teams be selected?
All of the 2026 FIFA WC qualified teams will be put onto a 'Wheel of Names' and teams will be given via the wheel in the order of users expressing their interest. As for me, I'll put my name in right in the middle of how many we get, to be fair. We went one step further and did a livestream draw! See the replay below
What are the design parameters?
- The minimum required for an entry is the FRONT and BACK of an Aussie Rules jumper
- Shorts and socks are optional
- PLEASE NOTE: You can also show an away/clash kitalongside the home kit
- If you choose to show more than 1 kit, you are not required to show the back of them, to prevent cluttering in your entry. But you may show the back of them if you like
- The front of the jumper must include the FJGD 2026 WC badge on the right breast and must remain as is
(Click for full res.)
- You are allowed to add another stroke(s) around the black one if you like
- You can have any manufacturer even if your national team does not use them
- The logo/wordmark can be placed anywhere around the top half of the jumper
- The left breast must include your nations football team crest
- You are allowed to edit it any way you like or leave it as is
- You may also just use the nations flag or create your own crest if you wish
- The back of the jumper must include a name and number of your choice
- You can use any font(s) you like
Also while I'm here, I have to address the elephant in the room...AI.
I will be implementing a rule that was recently added to the "What If" Wednesdays competition
I understand the sight of an AI generated image isn't exactly favoured and by now our eyes are almost automatically trained to spot them. Others have reached out about their situations and not everyone has the same certain luxuries, so for just this one time, please make an exception as those who are taking this path will not just be using the first thing ChatGPT or Grok spits out
Remember, the Template and Resource Thread and every FJ&GD'er is always here to help those in need!
I will be implementing a rule that was recently added to the "What If" Wednesdays competition
This rule was mainly brought in for:Entrants who wish to enter an AI image to present their entry, you must provide proof that your entry had some thought or effort behind it
- This can be anything like a rough idea made in Paint, recolouring an existing image/photo, a hand-drawn sketch, or something quickly drawn on your phone/tablet, just attach the image next to your entry. It won't go next to your entry in the poll for aesthetic purposes, unless you want it to be there
- Providing some incentive to learn about making designs/jumpers themselves
- Those who have limited/no access to graphic editing software or a PC/Laptop
- Users who wish to make their rough ideas more presentable
- Any other reason, please DM me for an exception

Any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask!
A big thank you to these likers who gave this competition the green light
