Hello....

Clubs are bracing for changes to the father-son and academy bidding system that would see them only able to use a maximum of two first-round draft picks to match bids on elite first-round prospects.
In the past, teams have been able to accumulate a vast selection of later draft picks which add up to the necessary points to help match bids placed by other clubs.
Clubs have been told the AFL Commission will in the coming months make a call on this year’s bidding system changes.
But clubs believe this year’s changes will mean that if a side wants to match a bid in the first round, they will only be able to use the accumulative points from two picks which must fall in the same round.

But they also have a golf course and a resturant in Hobart as well. What a metropolis.
Having been there, a word to the wise - make sure you're seated and have ordered before 8pm, or the kitchen will be closed!! Real metropolis......

That’s it then.

It’s gotta be back to the state of the art Wrest Point Casino after any night games! 😃🎰

Talking of wineries, I was in a band when I was in my twenties, doing pretty well on the local scene. One of the guys in the band left to open up a winery at the age of 24. We were stunned that he would give it away for something that seemed so lame. Complete departure from our social values. What person in their twenties gives AF about wine? (apart from hospitality folk of course)

Mind you, that was about 30 years ago and he's doing a lot better for himself now than the rest of us!

Shame though, he was an excellent musician

Walker will play for Bendigo early but expect him to train at Carlton most of the year and play some or lots of Blues VFL
how's this rort, another that needs to stop. clubs can't just have randoms come and train, so how to F/S and academy kids/clubs get a massive leg up.

There are country kids that would like the chilled lifestyle down there. Geelong attracts country boys who like the low key lifestyle. Brisbane deliberately strategised country kids so that they wouldn't go home. Tasmania could definitely attract more outdoorsy players.

I wouldn't hate the idea of looking at Jadyn Stephenson as a SSP/MSD pick. We are reasonably stacked for half forwards but I think he's a serious talent and seems like he is taking it seriously now. He's a match winner at his best

People forget how good he looked in the early days at Collingwood. His move to North was disastrous.

Why'd the Pies dump him?

I think he had some issues with punting and had a couple of really dumb acts that tarnished the club.

Hi folks, do you still see Dougal Howard as best 23 when not injured?
Yep especially if King isn't fit. Allows us to play an actual fwd (Caminiti) as a fwd rather than trying to fill the spot with a ruckman (Marshall).

If King ever gets fit, then its between Howard and Caminiti for FB.

I don't mind it.

We've had a pretty good run culture wise lately. Even though schoey didn't pay off nothing untoward happened while he was here.

At his best he and Hall would be unreal half forwards.
