Final Siren - Inside the AFL has dropped on Prime Video.

I watched it last night and can advise the only episode worth watching for Freo Fans is Episode 2 which focuses on Nat Fyfe.

What that bloke put himself through both physically and emotionally to get on the field was superhuman.

In the end he said he felt embarrassed on how he was performing but it is sad because he was one our greatest players if not the greatest.

Warning : The scenes after the final against the Suns are triggering for us Freo supporters!

The rest of the episodes focused on the Bont which wasn't so bad, but the focus on the rise of the Suns and Melbourne's woes and trying to show how Toby and Dorko were good blokes was nauseating!
Haven't seen it, but this quote hits rather hard.

Yep that was his mindset unfortunately and there were tears all round.

It was very sad but he gave everything he had to our team.

There is one scene where he presents to the physio and takes the tape off and his ankles are black and blue and he says they are not too bad!

Neil Erasmus interview from Thursday afternoon. Some stock standard questions and replies, but there's a couple that you don't usually hear get asked plus some novelty stuff at the end.

It’s depressing isn’t it? Fyfe, Pavlich, Mundy, Walters, Sandilands, McPharlin, McManus, list goes on, all club greats, all stayed loyal to the club, all retired without a flag.

Hopefully this current generation isn’t doomed to the same fate.

I have it lined up ready to have my heart ripped to shreds tonight. what better way to kick off the season than a stark reminder of what one of our greatest champions sacrificed for Freo to try achieve the ultimate. 😭

Fixed. Thanks for the correction.
I was not having a shot at you, just that I have a name that is forever being spelt wrong with at least 300 different variations. And a never ending number of attempts to pronounce the name.
Hence my comment.

Saw a clip of the guys in tears after the GC game just apologising to Fyfey and decided I was not watching anymore of that
As rough as that is, hopefully it fuels the motivation needed to stand up and take the next step.

Seeing a club champ retire without a premiership will first hand will definitely make some of the boys not want to go out the same way

I can't find a link, but the Face to Face interview with Longmuir and Sarah Jones is well worth a look for those with a Kayo/Foxtel subscription.

Won't do anything for those who think post-match press conferences are the sole determinant of whether we'll win a flag, but thought he was pretty considered and straight up and down re what the key issues were last year and where we need to get better.

Hey mate

You watched this on Kayo? Do you know where in Kayo it can be found? I tried searching "Longmuir" & "Sarah Jones" but no joy.

No worries. I'm just glad I finally learned how to spell Jordan Clarke's and Michael Fredricks's names correctly. I always got them wrong... 😉

This is the first season in quite a while where I've thought a side might go unbeaten in the home and away. Won't happen, but it's hard to see how Brisbane drop any more than one or two.

We will have had a great season if we can win enough for top four and get ourselves into a GF (or Prelim) against them. I don't really think we're starting much behind any other sides.
Impossible to go unbeaten in this climate.

Staying up every week is just as bigger mentsl challenge.

And lets be honest its the last thing you need anyway going into the finals.

Geelong 2008 and Collingwood 2011 i have a memory they wiped the floor in H&A with 21 and 21 wins and then got flogged on GF day.

Penrith in the NRL 2020 season lost 1 game for the year and then lost the GF.

Brissy will be like the Hawks and Tigers in there golden eras will lose more games then you think just out of pure boredom.

No.
Switta has had many concussions over his career including as a junior.
He has elevated risk.

I'd hope neither of us thinks we're Dr Google here on the diagnosis. Those comments I posted about Swittas concussion were the pull out talking points from the radio interview with Freo's Head of Development where he was asked if there was any major worries about the injury in the context of having had previous injuries.

Valentine pretty much said that this Saturday was the last day to tick off, and Switta had progressed through the previous stages.

I just put myself through it… painful to watch and shed a few tears when I saw Moose crying with Fyfe after the game.

Imo the Fyfe episode was the only good one of the whole series and more time should’ve been devoted to that storyline tbh. The rest of the doco was utter contrived garbage.
