Won't happen in the way the QLD/NSW clubs have it but it gets the ball rolling. My concern would be giving more control to AFL house, they would want to dictate how we run everything and do it their way.
Eddie's reaction is worth watching though.

Also LOL GWS want to change their name to the NSW Giants

No thanks Eddie "clubs never put up anything... thats not good for them"
Eddie never sees a need to declare a conflict of interest, after all, now hes here pleading the case for the WAFL?

Participation rate growth percentage in WA is the lowest of any state now and the number of first round picks and draftees from WA is dwindling.

We need to do something to keep WA producing talent for the top level and also keeping juniors playing the game as they are also the supporters of the future.

We need to do something to turn it around as the current system does not appear to be working.

Is it 'doing it their way' so bad though? Seems to work for Queensland.

In get Eddie's reaction but it is coming from a place of ignorance of WA footy. The WAFL have been left up to their own devices to grow the game and talent pool for far too long with piss poor results. If the 2 AFL clubs feel like they have to step in and take over then good. Let them do it.

To steal a phrase from Fremantle Football Club’s rival West Coast’s theme song, the Dockers are flying high. Seven on the trot, second on the AFL ladder, and a line-up dominating across the ground – could this finally be its premiership year?

AFL CEO Andrew Dillon and his troops at AFL House seem to think so. The league is trying to trademark “WHARFIE TIME”, no doubt thinking ahead to the lucrative merchandise and marketing potential of the Dockers’ inaugural flag.

The phrase was first associated with Freo back in the mid-1990s when, as the league’s newest club, it frequently copped the Sunday afternoon time slot for home games. Commentators started saying this was “wharfie time”, playing up Fremantle’s blue-collar roots to suggest they were clocking on for work as everyone else relaxed.

But it was Matthew Pavlich, Freo’s most beloved son, who made the phrase famous in his widely-mocked captain’s speech to players in 2009. “Put on your Superman capes, boys, it’s Wharfie Time!” he implored.

It’s a hard call on what’s the greater irony – the AFL trying to reconstruct a working-class narrative for Fremantle, which has become the hipster capital of the west, or attempting to monetise Pavlich’s phrase ahead of finals. He is now chief executive of the Sydney Swans, who are top of the ladder and looking like Freo’s biggest September foe.
God if it was actually a Freo vs Sydney GF, who would Pav support? Legally it would have to be his employers but surely his heart would be with Freo?

Fyfe would present the cup in his stead though surely?

Lol hilarious.

Eddie was having some sort of panic attack trying to control what he was about to say the thought of especially West Coast trying to get an advantage.

It would be great to see Pavlich in a suit, with Swans tie on bumping his fist in the air as Freo go 5 goals up in the last quarter of the GF.

Surely he’d have to take a weeks annual leave as soon as the siren went and ditch the tie and run over to the Boys.

You do feel like he hasn't actually watched us - just looked at the stats and made a judgment on how we're playing.

Without a doubt.

Hawks are a good side with a decent chance of winning...but that rambling 'analysis' while combing through cherry picked stats was a bit embarrassing.

Tbf though, Dan Does Footy doesn't really pretend to be a place you go for a serious technical breakdown of each game.

Agreed but out of all the footy pods I actually enjoy it the most - good mix of some serious footy discussion and fun. Starting to really dislike a lot of the others (FAF in particular is pretty awful).

NOT REAL, NOT REAL, NOT REAL

Patrick Voss Provisionally Suspended After Admitting to Taking Performance Enhancing Drugs

Most interesting thing from that story was that he was carrying a cold last week against the Dogs, poor guy has had a bad run (no pun intended, sorry Vossy) and this week he should be far better.

It was a "brown down in pool 3 moment" for Edward with an epic save as he instantly became a champion for WAFL rights!
Cam Two knew what to do and kept provoking.
You would reckon, that for decades, WC and lately FFC have featured in Eddies Pies Premiership Wet Dreams...flipping into nightmares.
