can you get a refund if it auto renewals? I'm going to live overseas and won't be attending. I told them this last year over the phone but they still took it out of my back account this year.

Any advice would be appreciated
Your only option here is to phone the membership department and get your 2026 membership cancelled. Because the season hasn't commenced, you would be entitled to a full refund.

I bought a cheap 5 dollar, 2 game membership at the end of last season so someone else in the family could come to the footy as well. I got a weird dollar amount come out of my account to the Western Bulldogs a couple of weeks back. I didn’t think much of about it but my wife insisted I follow it up.
I’ve just rang the club and I asked about the figure? They said that’s the monthly payment for 2 memberships. I nearly cancelled everything there and then! That 5 dollars to go to 2 games late last season is now being charged at $99 for three games this year! I mentioned that this is deceitful. This is actually worse than any of the utilities or banks I have to deal with. Are the Western Bulldogs the worst corporation I have to deal with? This is very poor business integrity.

Pretty sure that auto renewal was in the terms and conditions for the cheap $5 membership.

Auto renewal at $99 for a $5 promotion offer is deceitful. I didn’t even know it was auto renewal because I already have a membership, why would I want another one? It was so poorly worded, I thought it was added to my membership, now I know why it didn’t even work at the turnstile on my membership card.
And we went and stunk it up in that final game and my wife wasn’t impressed at the effort that day.

There’s also no way other than a direct phone call to the club to cancel auto renewal.

How hard would it be to include a tix box option on the membership portal?

If the club wants to p*** me and I presume other long term members it'll keep offering those dirt cheap 3, 5 or whatever game membership promotions mid and late year.

Edit: Today they give us a Black Friday - Buy 3 games, get three games free. Only $99. Sounds great. Maybe I'll ditch my expensive social club, reserved seat 11 game membership at 7 times that price then.

Absolute joke. Suck up to new and prospective members treat long term members (33 years and counting) like gum on a shoe.

i can understand some long-term members being with pissed with special deals. It does not concern me as a long term member provided the club uses the revenue gained wisely. As a 65 year consecutive member I am happy to pay full price. Just think they should offer a few extra bonuses for long members. Example a free draw for 50 year plus members to have access to the rooms before and after home games. Maybe four 50 year plus members per game do not think this would be hard to manage.

We do get free guaranteed rights to paid Grand Final tickets if we make the big dance which is something.

Wow. 65 years! Kudos OD.
And still optimistic after those two dreary decades from the early 60s to the early 80s. And there was I thinking my 30+ years was pretty good.

Any idea how many 65+ continuous year members there are? You’d surely be in the top 50.

Thanks Dogwatch. The downside of 65-year membership is I am now a fossil but still love going to games as opposed to watching them on TV. Not sure how many 65 year plus members probably not a lot 50 seems about right.

My highlights are the 61 Prelim final win against the dees in my first year of membership. I was very near the Merv Hobbs screamer. The GF not so good losing to Hawthorn. Some magnificent wins at the Whitten Oval. Watching the careers of Teddy, John Schultz, Bernie and Kelvin and Gary Dempster (before defection), Doug, Granty, Westy and now the Bont.

The top of the list is the flag in 2016 and the fightback of 89. Funny though the game that lives in my memory the most is the Prelim win against GWS in 2016 after so many close Prelim losses.

The Bulldog Bigfooty banter, opinions and passion is fun. We just need a couple of more flags surely if the club listened to the Bulldog Bigfooty community we would have a couple more flags LOL. Go Dogs.

Not a continuous member, but...

I was a Junior Member in 1961.

Went to every game with my father and a couple of his mates and their sons.

Didn't have a membership again until 1997, which continues today.

So, other than a 36 year gap...:p

Continuous supporter for 65 years- through thin and thin!

ivan rassmussen user to claim he'd been at games in the 1920s... but he's full of it. I think.

Hey - no obligation, but is anyone happy to share their Gather Round barcode if you are not going? I am trying to work out how to book for 9-10 people - mostly family and Bulldog fans / friendly Bulldog fans both from Melbourne & Adelaide ...

I suspect our game will sell out quickly hence wanting to grab tickets in the members on-sale, but not at the expense of comrade members wanting to go ...

DM me if you're happy to share yours. Greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know when opening round tickets go on sale? We're planning a trip to Brisbane but didn't want to lock flights & accommodation until we had a better idea around tickets.

Hey team, does anyone know how to get a 2nd GA ticket to gather round? I received an email with my Gather Round bar code yesterday but my kids who are also members did not get a barcode.

Can I go back on again tomorrow and buy another GA ticket or do I need another barcode?

If I do need another barcode, is anyone not using theirs that they would be willing to DM me? 🙏🏼

1 ticket per membership today, tomorrow you can buy tix to other games in a similar manner. Friday on sale to the public.

I got tickets today but the bulldogs allocation was apparently exhausted and the only tickets available to me were in hawks bay next to the dogs. Absolutely over complicated rubbish. At least tge vibe at gather round is generally different to other rounds, so hopefully some non hawks in the bay with us.

At least your auto renewal worked….i started getting messages saying I was going to lose my Social Club, so I checked and my auto plan that I’ve had since the Dead Sea was sick didn’t go through…so now I’ve got a 3 month up front payment right on Xmas…..nice….

On a better note, they did listen to me about the membership….my interstate one changed to a 6 game, but they made it so I can attend both games in Qld instead of the old one where it was a flat 5 games in Melb and 1 in the state you live. Not sure if I can get to games in other state or if it’s just Melbourne- the one time I’ll be in Melbourne next year, it’s a Saints home game 🤦🏼‍♂️

I am a 63 year continuous member my first memories are of Merv Hobbs trying often to emulate his high mark in 63 & 64.
