Is Coniglio a trap? Current mids with Parish at Flex

I have $316k to play with, so can move him to a genuine top 10 like Anderson or Serong, but am keen to find value

I asked a few days ago about Coniglio and didn't get a response. Was curious about his role, spending more time in the forward line than mids by the looks of it in the Rd0 game with only 11% CBA's. Don't think that would necessarily work against him. I'm sure he'll still find the pill around stoppages in the forward half? I'm sure someone will know more than me. Had him in my team up until yesterday where I went from Young / Coniglio to Brayshaw / Sharp....

Don't think Merrett was "very underpriced", he has like 5-8 points of upside vs his price if he hits his peak. That said I get the excitement with the pick, nice to jag a premo pod and have them smash it immediately.

5 years in a row of 112-116 days he’s about ~7 points underpriced all going well for him.

I think he’s probably had his best score for the year & he’s objectively not going to kick 2 goals with 3 goal assists every week. He’d do well to end up going 15-15 for the year (15 would be top 50 for goal assists so in the top 3 or so per team).

Drop his numbers down to a far more likely scoring output & you’ve probably got 80, 90 max for 22 disposals. 64% DE is also very Coniglio-career like & a number I expect to stay the same.

One price rise with 122 in it doesn’t make enough. 80s from here makes him a hard pick to do much with. Add in an early bye, even if it is a “good one”, and it’s a nail in the coffin.

I have Dawson, as I want a non bye Mid? Is he the best of the premiums? Is Brayshaw an option around the same price - just not sure.

Brayshaw seems a better supercoach scorer than fantasy, where he's always been a bit of a headache in my experience.

Looking at last year's numbers, they both had 6 scores over 130, Brayshaw had the higher floor, hence his slightly higher average I suppose.

Or blow the byes and just get Bont??

Brayshaw’s 2nd half end to the season concerns me. He was still an excellent player but he was team first & his average dropped significantly. Freos best game is probably not Brayshaw having 35+. 4 of those later season games where his big games were capped also coincided with Young returning.

He was averaging 123 after round 14, finished the year averaging 114.

Now obviously a small sample size & heaps of reasons and he could do the same thing again. But my concern is he changed role slightly and now his top scores are capped (despite being a consistent player) and he might be a ~105 premo rather than 114.

Just pick the guy you want IMO, as long as you're not leaving yourself ridiculously short on the byes, back the player you think scores more over the whole season.

For instance, I went Richards over the above guys, knowing I'll likely lose 40-60 points in Round 3 as a result, but that's only really going to account for 2-3 points per week over the course of the season, and I'm comfortable backing Richards to make up that deficit.

Can anyone let me know why Bont played more forward last week, and whether they think it will continue?

Not too keen on paying 700k for sub 50% CBAs
Croft got hurt so they needed another tall player forward.

As to whether it continues, remember this man his his coach

Think Brayshaw will be a pretty good pick. Only in 4% of teams, bye friendly. Definitely priced at his max though, so could be one to get slightly cheaper if he has a down game. Love his DT / SC ratio and can pump his score up a bit extra with all the tackling. Was either Brayshaw or Merrett for me and thought the latter would struggle a little bit given the Hawthorn stuff. If I had the choice again I'd go Merrett, haha. Brayshaw should be good for around 110 average, in my opinion. (Fingers crossed, haha)

Coniglio looks really fit. Fitter than I have seen in ages. Just on that, I am assuming he will be better this year and I am happy to run with him
What are you hoping from him? Stepping stone, or M8 keeper? Something else?

With as much $$ as I have, I can give him a. Couple of weeks and use the $$ to correct if need be

probably a M8 keeper. I want to conserve trades as long as possible and my mid priced madness should allow me to do that

Do most people think Bruhn is a must have? I currently have LDU as a pod (north bias) but could definitely be tempted to upgrade in another area if that's the consensus. Cheers for any feedback

I have both Bruhn and LDU. Of the two, Bruhn is a must have for cash generation and I think (hope?) LDU can be a top 10 mid this year.

Seconded - worst case scenario you trade him out at his bye with a price rise. If he holds form, he could be a fwd keeper.

Parish looked pretty good last night, reckon passing on him might've been a miss. Have zero faith in Brad Scott.
Was fourth in line for CBAs behind Caldwell, Merrett and Roberts. Surely the Roberts trial gets shelved, he was out of his depth. 90pts first game back in an absolute belting, I think is pretty good.

Yep, worst case scenario, he makes enough to nearly straight swap to Young or Parish if they’re looking like must haves.

I feel like LDU is hurt by Xerri. To the eye, he's often trying to grab the ball out of the ruck or insert himself as a midfielder and taking opportunities from LDU to score points.

Agree. I just don't trust Scott once shit hits the fan. Who knows what that bloke will do.

Exactly and will get DPP by Round 6 so will look good at F6.
