The sub cancellation was the best option for us. Served a purpose. This one was all about making an example out of someone imo, and it blew up in our faces.

It was the best option correct but the way it was handled made Australia look like a pissant on the global stage. Making an example of a rich guy who sidestepped a canceled visa based on 50min deviation from procedure won't register

Serbia has the same immigration rules as us, so if an unvaccinated Aussie tried going over there for a holiday they'd be turned away at the border

lol most people in the general public would breaking the rules.
The old lady across the street from me has had covid the last week, suppose to self isolate but hasn't stopped her from heading out and about and speaking to passers by.
Not saying it's acceptable but I think this kind of thing would be occurring quite often around the world at the minute.

At this point what difference will it make? They now are allowing hospital staff back within days of a positive test.

And then you would have thousands and thousands of people who don’t even know they have covid travelling around. Iso would have next to no effect in stopping any spread. That ship has long sailed.

The only thing that matters to them now is making sure the hospitals can manage.

The various levels of government won’t officially say it, but spreading a mild form of covid around to create a herd immunity is the way forward to getting rid of it once and for all. Hence the current lack of restrictions.

The only thing that matters to them now is making sure the hospitals can manage.

Yeah that's right, although I think you might mean the way forward to it becoming endemic rather than "gotten rid of once and for all". High levels of vaccination coupled with the spread of a less dangerous variant.
None of it stops Novak from being either a complete sham or completely delusional which for a top sportsman I can't recall seeing since someone like Lance Armstrong. He either deliberately contracted COVID in order to avoid having to be vaccinated, or what's more likely given his actions around the dates in question, he generated false evidence of being COVID positive so as to satisfy the medical panel. Morrison must have just seen his chance to come to the party after realising how deeply both sides of the political spectrum could be united in their outrage over a single tennis player.
Novak sucks. Morrison sucks even more. Tennis Australia suck. It's a pity they don't all cancel each other out.

Nah I drove on thru. The previous forecast said 22 degrees/mild, which changed obviously to 30. Otherwise it would have been nice to spend the morning on the waterfront.

Will go another time- with my mum, go see my Nana's plaque on the pier and make a day out of it.
