And you gotta watch tennis (and sport in general) live.

I will precursor with my interest in Tennis being null and void, but when I was at the 2011 Aus Open final it would have to have been the most boring event I have been to. And people constantly asking me who I thought would win or who I was supporting like there was a validation needed for the event.

Cannot even compare to the atmosphere and electricity of an AFL grand final or even some H&A spectacles.

I meant live as in live as it happens.

Not live as in being there in person. I prefer tennis via the comfort of air con + in front of a TV screen.

17' AO final was better than a GF for me.

Definitely comparable imo.

And of course AFL atmosphere is better. Crowds can talk/yell etc whenever they like.

Bit unfair to compare that to a tennis match when you gotta be silent.

Only during points. Even then people still scream out if it's a big match.

RLA can get very loud don't worry about that.

Thanks for that tip about Cressy Munich.

Shall definitely keep an eye out for him next week.
*ranked 75. Hopefully he can do some damage, somehow.

I watched him against Dimitrov and Rafa. He is an old school S&V, it's great to watch.

He had never cracked the top 100 before playing in melb last week so a real newcomer.

Awesome. I was a huge Rafter fan back in the 90s.

You get sick of the old baseline slogs sometimes.

Whatever happened to Pat Rafter? You never hear about him anymore. Wonder what he's doing now...

AFL is sh*t now. Lets face it.

Tennis is tennis.
I would like to see more serve and volleys tho.
I had courtside seats at the AO in 1977 courtesy of a client who was a minor sponsor.
Nice young ladies bringing around free packets of Marlboro, and cold beer.

But Roscoe Tanner, now that's what I call serve and volley!

Did they still play with wooden racquets back then gramps?

That is problem, it is too clinical, you cannot even return to your seat during play. I know they are very skillful and all, just found it rather boring and wondering when the game would end.

Tennis needs the Happy Gilmore treatment.
