Bahaha. Just noticed this game was just uploaded in it's entirety on YouTube.

Fast forward to the 20:41 mark for the biggest self own in the history of AFL commentating. :D

how good was Pops Kelly :D
How good was the whole team.

The games used to be so fun. Our whole family used to be involved in the club. Social club, wags function every Once in a while. Mum and my aunties were in the geelong women’s “nine lives” group.

Year in year out seats in the old Brownlow stand on the wing, best seats in the house.

It just doesn’t have that feel anymore. Not just because of the pandemic either.

It was a once in generational footy team. Won't see it again for a very long time.
Even as invincible as what Melbourne look to be right at this very moment, they won't be 50+ point favorites heading into every game next year.

Today's team is a jack of all trades with hand me down's from other clubs. A quick fix vs. long term progression and that is why we ultimately get our pants pulled down when the real stuff begins in September.

There wasn’t a mediocre player, every team has there weaker links. Shannon Byrnes, stokes, maybe even Steven King that year.

But they weren’t horrible players, they could star for other teams while they were the last choice players for us at the time.

Seriously under-rating Stokes.

Seriously under-rating Stokes.

Was very good for a few years. Personally I think his greatest achievement was to reinvent himself as a linkup midfielder around 2012-2013 and start getting 25 touches a game. Really impressive.

As for their "best", I think Byrnes in 2009-2010 was better. His 2010 was very very good.
