What a lovely sleep I had.

I wonder how Djok is going over at Tulla 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wonder how comfortable the chairs in the ABF offices are and if they're suitable for sleeping

Nah he won't. If he applied for the wrong visa he applied for the wrong visa.
I think the "pearl clutchers" are just happy the same rules are being applied to him a everyone else. It's just refreshing that a rich person hasn't just been able to re-write the rules to suit him

Ah ok so there is more to it than they are saying. The news is implying they have cancelled it just because they can.

Silly me for listening to what they say on tv. They always twist the stories to suit their narrative.

Except he didn't follow the rules, hence why his visa was cancelled

Yes he followed the application process for applying for entry into the Aus Open, along with 25 other exemption applications

He then screwed himself, or more so his team kinda screwed him, by applying for the wrong visa which didn't allow him entry:

"However, late on Wednesday evening it emerged that Djokovic was seeking to enter Australia on a work visa, which doesn’t permit medical exemptions for being unvaccinated and requires the support of the Victorian government.

A federal government source told The Age there were question marks about whether Djokovic had adequate documentation to prove the reason for his exemption, which is required from unvaccinated people."

Honestly thought that either himself or others in his camp would have enough knowledge of country entry requirements by this stage of his career to know about applying for the correct type of visa
Exactly! Which means there's got to be more to this story. The most plausible thing I can think of is that he was happy, without much risk, to do some dodgy things on his tournament exemption application, a risk he wasn't prepared to take when it came to facing the Australian government.

Sad state of affairs the world is currently in.
I have nothing against Djokovic. He's one of the best athletes of all time and a roll model to millions of kids around the globe. This whole pandemic is turning out to be a blight on mankind. You would think we would have handled a one off disaster much better in the year 2020.

I do think people have been caught up in the fear of it all. This has played into the hands of those at the top.
Australia did do very well compared to many countries when it came to mortality from covid and I guess we could afford to do so. So many academics have been enjoying the spotlight. It's something they would never have experienced in their lifetimes otherwise. Almost celebrity status for a few (watch for reality TV appearances).

I can't get my head around the total fear mongering by the media and many politicians.
So much focus on vaccination and not of the other major issues our society is facing like obesity and addictions. To think our government told all their citizens they could only exercise for upto 2 hours per day when covid was circulating is the type of looney toon stuff our grand children will be laughing about.
If the mortality rate of covid was similar to the Spanish influenza, you could see a scenario as to why you should be locked away.

The media has a lot to answer for. The fear pr0n about omicron was just ridiculous. Headlights screaming “omicron fears, why you should be worried” and all that garbage, when omicron had shown from the very beginning it was very mild. They love pushing the fear angle to get people to tune in and boost their ratings.

Even know they are still talking about surging cases, when hospitalisations haven’t changed much at all. And those cases are most likely left over delta. Omicron has already become the dominant strain. Which is exactly what you want. If this continues, and no other severe strains eventuate, it will be the end of the pandemic.

Just like spanish flu, which burnt itself out in about 2 years.

I'm not sure many of the 40,000 Australian academics (around 1 in 5) who have lost their jobs because of the pandemic coupled with the systematic gutting of public funding for tertiary education over many years, are 'enjoying the spotlight' much..

Epidemiologists are though. Already seen one on tv today pushing for more restrictions. They need to stfu and accept the cat is out of the bag, and we will be better off for it.

Focused more on those in the scientific and medical fields.

Yeah it's the story of the 21st century. Piecemeal or partial information leading to people taking the wrong conclusion. I'm certainly not innocent of similar

Plus it's like a dozen in the spotlight total. Most of them aren't listened to either
