Everyone should live within 15 mins to their work. I honestly dunno how ppl travel well over half an hour each way, such a waste of your time.

That's why I'm enjoying working from home.

Completely agree, had to travel out to Lara for my previous job and I couldn’t be asked anymore.

I had young kids at the time and I felt like I wasn’t there for them enough, needed a closer job.

It’s easier now though, my new job is 15-20 minutes away at best.

Yep I was 30 mins each way (on a normal day- forget it breakdown/accident etc), so one hour per day, 5 hours per week, 50 hours per term.

2 whole days just in the car. **** that

They aren't doing it to attract the public but rather the owners & trainers - the new race in Sydney is reported to have prize money more than 10x that of any Melbourne Spring Cup carnival race other than the Melbourne Cup

So it's not exactly about competing with the Cup crowd, but rather attracting those which would be involved in the other races - money wise, it will get some names
