Felt sorry for Jordan as the sub, was almost like a glorified mascot!!

Still a premiership player though and they should give out medals to those that have played through the year in any case
Wonder how he felt with Goody coming on board.

I reckon after finishing third in the Skilton he probably feels just fine.
IDK, there was no reason to be denied some TOG given his contribution over the season (20 full games, 2 sub appearances). I can understand not wanting to take someone out of the game, but Harmes was volunteering.

It was still an injury sub at the iirc so might not have been able to

That's 4 players now in protocols - Adams (also on leave), Grundy, Amartey, and now Snell.

Hopefully niggling injuries don't start to become more troublesome, especially if players aren't participating in the match sims (eg. Wicks). Perhaps it's more of a load management thing with more intra-club match sims to come, before the Bulldogs practice match on Feb 19.

IMO, I'm going to guess Cootee's injury might be a bit worse than what's been implied to date.
So by my count, we're up to 9 injuries (unless some happened to train today) (EDIT: missed Max!)

Papley
Adams
Cootee
Andrew
Edwards
King
Cunningham
Phillipou
Bowman (as mentioned by liz in injury thread)

Papley is back in training, just recovering fitness.

Hanily was in attendance at today's training but was sporting a moon boot on one foot. Either it's not serious or the moon boot does an excellent job at masking the injury (or maybe both), because during the breaks in the match simulation he was taking set shots at goal.

Jesse's "deloading" from last week, as explained by Cox, extended to this week. He was there but taking no part. Something more serious than just "deloading"?

Chamberlain was also in attendance, and wearing a playing guernsey but I don't think I saw him actually take to the field.

So not match play?

If not, I predict he won’t be ready for OR

Swans coach Dean Cox told AFL.com.au that Papley was building his training and the club is preparing for him to be ready to tackle the Blues.

"At this stage, yes [we're confident of that]," Cox said.

"We'll want to get some minutes into Tom. One thing most people know is you don't take injured players in early, so he's doing some decent kilometres each week and he'll build back in.

"He trained [on Friday], did some ball work stuff and when you get into matchplay you have to build them in as much as you possibly can without exposing them too early. Over the next couple of weeks (we will) really ramp that up."

Might be weird to say but it's good to see some turnover vision in these clips finally and not just the champagne footy.

Whilst I enjoy watching the slick skills and end to end stuff, I've been keen to see more turnovers - how we create them, how we defend them, and how we punish them.

Geelong made the grand final and had the least amount of turnovers of any team last year, but even they still averaged just shy of 60 turnovers a game. They're gonna happen and they're gonna happen a lot, so it's nice to see some vision of how we're dealing with them.

Well, I didn't see much but can offer a little about who was wearing red/green, FWIW (which is less than it would be if we didn't have so many players missing the match):

* there were a lot of top ups who I didn't recognise. One that I did recognise and haven't seen for a while was Harrison Podmore-Taylor. He is a unit! I asked Brett Kirk who some of the others were and he said he didn't know! I couldn't believe it since he's in charge of wellbeing but I clarified and he confirmed his remit only extends to AFL listed players.

* Bice and Roberts and were all on Red team

* Amartey and McLean were both on Green team. Charlie and Logan were on Red. Ditto Rosas.

* Melican was on Green team so he could play on Curnow.

* Rowy was looking good (Red team) - I saw him score a goal off the deck inside 50

* I saw Serong hit a nice pass to Curnow inside 50.

* Rampe (Green) and Lloyd were both training right until the end, so perhaps their chances of playing are going up.

Hopefully others (especially the astute observer liz will post more about what they saw) because I don't think that's much of an offering.

Mads and Polly from the True Bloods podcast were there. I tried chatting to them but didn't find them very friendly or interested in engaging. Mads reckoned that Rosas was looking very sharp in the match play.

That's all I got.

Looking at the Inside Sydney video of today's practice match that has been posted on the club website (and I have put in the media thread) it looks like the Red and Green teams were pretty meaningless today, with the likes of Mills, Blakey, Rampe, Gus all running around for Green team.

Cleary's handballing was looking a little off in those highlights.

I wouldn't be surprised if the True Bloods guys had been flown up there and probably thought they had a job to do.

I've met Mads on the way to a game once and he couldn't have been friendlier.
