I generally think her reporting is credible, but it starts to lose weight when she leans into over-sensationalising certain points.

“Why didn’t Chris Davies or Graham Wright step in to overrule Voss and the coaches and prevent him from playing?”

“The Collingwood players saw him shank that kick in the warm-up” - that just doesn’t stack up.

“There are claims Collingwood players said he admitted to drinking” - yet she then concedes she couldn’t verify that directly, and is only raising it because Carlton didn’t explicitly rule out alcohol in their statement.

In such a sensitive situation to use it to dribble shit like that for her own jollies is just disgraceful. I forgot how much I hated her for a while there. Then it all comes back to me.

I sat there aware he was statless saying to my family it’s actually a really difficult thing to do, aware that teammates were completely ignoring him even though he was miles in the clear on multiple occasions and being angry about it but only became aware of the situation when I got home and read it on here.

Need to interview each and every player from both sides... the umpires too frankly.

All have a duty of care (as does the Club etc.).

His eyes were bloodshot too. That can happen with alcohol, though also lack of sleep which was brought up.

Anyway I'm not sure why anyone is attacking Caro. If he said that to Pies players its pretty damning. Could he have made it up? Sure. Possible if going going through some type if episode. But it would be an odd lie since its such a bad look.

Ideally for the sake of Elijah, this would all be dealt with privately. But after we let that happen in front of 80,000 people the gennie is out of the bottle. Let's not kid ourselves. No way to brush this under the carpet. We need to be realists.

The club and Elijah (depending on the circumstances), only have themselves to blame for that.

Caro is trading a snippet of information to get her thread into the fabric of the story.

For almost 60 years I've been following this club and this is the lowest point I can ever remember. Even during the salary cap scandal I kidded myself we weren't the only club doing it and at least we were trying to keep a very good batch of players together.

But now, I have nothing to hang my hat on. It's been like watching a slow moving train wreck over the last few years and on Thursday night that train just found another gear.

I don't know what will or even what should happen from here but I do know that for the first time I am embarrassed to say I support the Carlton Football Club. I've been getting more and more disinterested in our games and Thursday might just have tipped me over the edge. Pretty sure I now don't give a **** about Carlton and I'm starting to worry that i never will again.

Hope lij is ok but it’s very hard to deal with even if you do know… we had a guy at our work with mental health issues and came in one day and thought he was working at nasa and we pulled him aside and called the Cat team but we knew … have also had a friend which we didn’t know and took us a while to figure it out … wasn’t a quick fix .. for all Carlton knew lij was a coke and drunk so they had no clue of the the mental health issues going on .. dude rocks up to play and Carlton for all their knowledge dealt with it the best they could…it’s the first time it’s happened , remember that … dealing with someone going through an episode is probably the hardest thing to deal with !!! I have been there.. everyone needs to chill

It’s not the first time. He openly admitted he had an episode against Sydney last year.

I have spent years managing teams big and small and agree mental health issues are incredibly challenging to mange in a workplace … but it’s part of the responsibility you take as a leader.

There’s lots of people with important titles and roles at the footy club … where were our leaders on Thursday night?

You are spot on. It’s very easy to see what happened after the fact.

If it was that obvious to all, why was it not mentioned during the game. Not that I kept up with every comment of the “in game” thread but I can’t recall it being mentioned.

Don’t recall it being mentioned during the game by TV commentators either.

My concern during the game was no stats, even said to my wife if Hollands kicks 2 goals in the last we will win.
