Trembath might have to break an 80 year record to get noticed it seems.
We know how these things go, he might have several games he could/should get a nom for, misses out, then gets a nom down the track for a 3 mark, 2 goal game or something.

Most key forwards should get a nom for a 3 mark, 2 goal game tbh.

Sam Darcy was the $1.20 favourite 4 games into his 3rd season after kicking 7 goals and averaging 2 CM marks per game.

Trembath has matched that contested marking and kicked 12 goals, he's not only not a favourite, he hasn't even got a nomination.

This isn't on Jagga, it's on the selectors, making them look stupid for giving noms out to 12, 13 and 14 disposal games over him at the end of last year.

I hope he kicks another 3 this week.

It would mean he's kicked 3x the amount of goals any RS eligible player has ever kicked without receiving a nomination and might break a 50 year record in the process, would be kind of hilarious if it went on another game.

He isn't getting overlooked for a 12-14 touch game though is he? Smith had 16 in the 1st term and was bog with 32 touches we wouldn't have won/avoided losing without him.

This is nothing against smith, but Trembath was over looked in game 1, game 2, game 3 and now game 4.

He’s rated as more impactful than Murphy Reid who won the thing, and more than smith.

If smith played for north and cooper for carlton, cooper would have revived his second nomination this week after already being nominated last year (probably on debut)

BOG based on who and what?

Walsh scored the 10 coaches votes and CD had Jagga as the 17th best player on the ground as he had a negative ball use rating.

The BOG was a bit of a stretch, but different people see games differently. That said, you highlight the Coaches Award assessment, where Walsh got 10 votes, but then overlook that Jagga got 5 votes from the coaches too. Considering that both 5s were given to Walsh, Voss probably gave Weitering 1, Yze probably gave Taranto 2, the "worst" case is Vos and Yze probably had Jagga as the 3rd and 4th best player for the game.

You REALLY can't argue that Smith deserved the nomination when even the opposition coach thought he did very well .....

EDIT. I would probably have Voss going Walsh 5, Jagga 4, Cripps 3, Short 2 and Weitering1 and Yze going Walsh 5, Short 4, Cripps 3, Taranto 2 and Jagga 1 so Voss has him 2nd best, and Yze 4th best.

Walsh had 4 score involvements, jagga had 11. Jagga went out of the game more but he was key to some of the early goals that setup the lead.

Was his game BETTER than Jagga Smith in rd 1 ??? If no then why exactly are you complaining??? .....

It depends on how you weight their impact I guess.

The AFL rating system rated Trembaths game well above, because they weight things like turnover and advanced disposal stats harshly.

Jagga has an average kicking retention rating of -10 after his first two games. Which is fairly brutal.

That is a rating +/- below the AFL average in those instances of hitting the target and your team retaining the ball.

His threat rating was a big negative. Meaning on average he prevented direct scoring plays with his kicking, not facilitated them or unlocked them. Which is a problem given he kicked is 24 times across Carltons first two games.

Puts him virtually bottom 10 in the league for mids in the first two rounds. Of those 10 he had the lowest basic disposal kick eff % (which is a flawed stat though)

For some context, Will Ashcroft has a -27 kick retention rating, which is just about the biggest two week butcher job since the stat has been collated. That's the equivalent of kicking with two left feet.

Chuck Trembath onto the ball and see how his stats become negative as well. Cant bag a 2 game player for missing targets in the heat of battle.

Worth nothing Jagga had 11 score involvements and seemed to be in every one of our scoring chains early on when he was going berzerk. Yeah he butchered a few especially later on, but being a kid fatiguing combined with a side that didn't really turn up after half time, I ain't worried.

Unless we manage to fully Carlton him of course.

Well he was in the ruck, so no. He had a 50% win rate though.

You realise he is a tall forward?
Yeah, just saying, its easier to have a higher disposal efficiency in the forward line, rather than on ball. Quoting negative stats on disposal for a predominant midfielder is stretching it i reckon.
Note that Jagga had more score involvements than Trembath had touches. Trebaths time will come..
