The R10 washup
With the pursewah bursting at the seams and one last boost in hand it was time for that week that rarely comes around in an SC tragics life - the triple upgrade.
What a time to be alive.
Be ruthless Steady..ruthless ... . It’s time for those other coaches still standing to meet their maker…….
First up, lets shore up the backs:
Lizard?? Nice POD cool moving dude, can score . tick tick tick
Daily Bale?? No, blacklisted. never again
Bodhi?? Who??
A quick check on the byes, some number crunching on the Abacus and this highly tuned statistical brain zeroes in on a long time uber premo with a 105 season ave , injury game aside, for around $450k. Sold!
Moving on and leaving the forwards for now because, well there aren’t any, means its double up time in the mids. With Heeney, Butters, Bont, Naicos Red Ed all banked and flush with cash.... its an exciting time.
Baz - nah, BE too high…next week
Holmes - nah, can’t have that many R16 bye players if I want Baz next week.
Dawson/Rankine/Noah Nope…R12 bye, no point
TLDR -
And just like that, my journey to BF badge-ville and SC Royalty comes to an end yet again…….
Round 11 - The Scott Pendlebury
Benefit Round
And so back on the horse we get, because thats what we do.
As the byes loom and decent bubble boys dry up it’s time to pay homage to one of the good guys of the AFL as he trots out for the record breaking 433rd time against Wet Toast on Saturday. Sir Scott...
But before that excitement, we kick off with a Thursday night game in Tassie, so thats sure to be a great watch with the Mayblooms taking on the Crom.
McAndrews probably has one more week left for those that still hold him so they will be looking for him to go out with a bang.
Unfortunately, Cook's time in the sun is up and he can go back to being some anonymous Crows player none of us have ever heard of nor will again.
Those interested in Dawson or Rankine after their byes will probably be looking for the SC Gods to give them a decent Liverpool kiss this week to spud them up so I suppose the game holds some glimmer of interest to some but ..meh
Backing up and on Friday night we have a double header which kicks off with an absolute Shockbuster.
To Tsatsas or not to Tsasas, that is the question. Can the Tigers actually field a full team? Does Essendon double its win count to two in the last 12 months? These burning questions and more are sure to be answered at Sleeptime at the G.
Lets be honest, this game could quite possibly end in a nil all draw and be decided on penalties long after both teams supporters have left in disgust.
Fortunately we have choices…. so we only have to suffer one quarter of that game and can flick the switch over to my Euro-Yroke lads taking on Walyalup in their own country. Hopefully their welcome is sincere and they turd up for their guests.
Surely Cox did enough to retain the main ruck role and Longmuir can plonk Dogga in the car park for one more week. I promise to put the C on him again if that sweetens the deal. Bam Bam Banfield's second game is of interest as we look ahead for downgrades through the byes. A Pou ton incoming.
Onto Saturday and first up we have round 12 bye teams with Norf and Suns facing off. There's probably not much movement at the station here for us trade wise with the only interest for me, the SC Gods stepping up again and pointing a bone at a few of them.
The actual football game of the round follows with the Cats and Swans down at Kardinia Park, a ground that incidentally Sir Pendles has never seen in 433 games and 20+ years, it's a bit of a travel. For me it's Baz time this week to complete my mids and add another R16 player to the ever bulging list of them.
Does the Grundy train just keep rolling on? Hard to see that not happening. Does Curnow have a pulse this week and gaf? Hard to see that happening.
The history-making main event of the round kicks off shortly after, where we get to see a middle aged man wearing no less than 12 golden jumpers dance around the G as if he’d just been drafted. Surprised it hasnt been mentioned in the news much.
If you’re not exhausted by now or pissed on a Pendlebury Pinot Noir, Saturday night serves up a nice little sleeping tablet with Port and the Blues battling it out, quite literally….
The only real interest, and that's clutching at straws, is whether young Ison gets Murdocked for those going early, spits out a Burton or pumps out a nice Lindsay for those that wait till next week.
Personally, I’ll re-arrange the sock drawer, get some rest and check the papers on Sunday morning to find out.
SBS kicks off with all my Round 10 triple upgraders trading barbs, instead of points when the Lions and Giants take to the field. Clug, Zorko and Finn, my 3 musketeers.
The irony is not lost on me.
Mentally drained and with the waft of the Sunday Roast ticking away in the oven, some brussels sprouts steaming on the stove, we finally get to sit back and chill with Maximus and Bont re-assuring us that Premo’s never die, they just decide to take the piss out of us every so often.
TLDR:
Head down to your local Fruit Shop, grab a punnet of Pendleberries, a bottle of The Pendlebury Game Breaking Special Edition Pinot Noir on the way home, drop a few pennies into the Go Fund Me page and you’re good to go. Bring on Round 11
To Sir Pendlebury of the Carringbush…… we salute
