Probably my worst round ever. Down from 8k to 36k

Trade in English (C) ruined me
But I was already cooked with premo scores of Butters (84), Anderson (77), Walsh (78), Jaicos (78) and Sheezel (81)

At least now I can probably tune out a little. Will try to crawl back up the rankings but won't be so upset if things don't go my way. Perhaps I'll try to go a bit unique with things for a bit of fun

Yeah I'm thinking the same. I'm just gonna focus on leagues mostly too

Got lucky as a non Daicos owner, but also a missed opportunity with fake premos Anderson and Caldwell dishing up trash.

I had a 25k drop in the end, from just outside the Top 10k to 35k. Two late premo outs and an injured captain was too much to cover in the end. I think it’s for sure my largest one round drop in the 5 years I’ve been playing

Bugger! I had Daicos and Richards as well as captaining English so I feel your pain.

Need to take a fair dose of copium and realise that there's not a huge amount of points difference from the top 1% of sides, concentrate on making cash and the points will follow.

Not sure yet. Harley should score better and has a pretty good run to his bye outside of Freo and GWS, but West Coast aren't fantasy friendly and he's being tagged every game. I still think he outscores his current price though.

Cheers both - realistically trading him out wasn't really going to happen this with Red anyway but I have been pretty pleased with his pick until this week so guests just got to back him in!

I really don't get what the 16yo's are trying to do with this info. It's of no interest as to who scores what at a particular ranking point.

The pertinent point is the aggregate score at those ranking spots. Who gives a **** what an individual team scores, it's completely irrelevant.

35k post-bye is shit but I honestly expected worse. I think that is down to a lot of my failed picks barring Anderson and Cameron being highly owned and thus less of an issue. Cash gen is king this early and on that front I am not too bad but probably needed to jump on Farrow/Lindsay already.

Considering it wasn’t a great score I’ll take the rise in ranks

1573 and up to 65K after starting at 82K, oh these heady heights. Reflections now everyone's played four games:

• 10 teams on Opening Round gives us such obvious-upside starting picks that you can just go vanilla with the rest of your starting squad rather than trying to pick PODs. This year those picks were Bruhn, Budarick, Houston and Fonti (though he was tougher to pick as he's never been a scorer before).
• From there, just fill your squad with guns and rooks, picking the obvious guys and balancing for early byes. Up to 7 players total on each early bye is fine as most of the best players have one. Trying to take shortcuts by picking cheaper players just leads to issues.
• Trade into popping value players (Bice, Murdock, Cook etc.) rather than having to trade out of failed value players (Parish, X. Lindsay etc.)
• Don't get tempted into overrating players without an early bye just because it's convenient (Butters is a candidate for this I suspect)

No more hiding behind best 18. Now gotta choose between Jacques, Grill, Windsor, Serong and Farrow for two spots in defense. One of Cook or Robertson for F6. Fielding the right ones can make it break your season, I already know I'm gonna pick the wrong ones.
