Gather round is here. The early byes are finished and finally we get a look at our whole team playing in a best 22 week once again. We are so close to our rookies getting maxed out in price and beginning upgrade season, so this is potentially one of the last weeks where we can fix up any injured premos or failed mid pricers before that happens.

Me realising none of my premiums are actually premiums

We will be on Adelaide time this week as all the teams converge on Adelaide Oval (and other assorted smaller Adelaide grounds) to compete this weekend. So get ready for some South Australian action.

This is what I imagine all my Fantasy players do just off the screen instead of trying to get the ball

Prepared for another 20k rank drop this week, to go with 2 more injuries to my premiums

This hit me in the feels. It’s like you can see inside my head.

I'm even less sure about this weeks 'trades' than last week

Do I get Edwards for that sweet cash gen sugar hit (and to play on field) or just go 2 premos?

New boy Newman tomorrow!
Nice. I'm waiting till next week to get him (and to suss out Newman v Coleman v Kerch v Bice v Roberts). At the moment I'm going:

Windy -> Edwards
Anderson -> Smith (pending Andersons tag, which we should know just before bouncedown)

Need that sweet sweet fixture v WCE. 910k in the bank with English and Richards riding the pine. That's billions of dollars!

Might have to abort Edwards. They talk a lot about managing him on the Geelong board

Yeah spewing I gotta hold Anderson & Butters absolutely sinking ships but Anderson has Essendon next if you can survive one more week

Butters is gonna be tagged isn't he?
Defeat Butters, you stand a chance to beat Port.
Anyone got the StKilda playbook this week?

They’ll throw Garcia on him for sure. Jury is out whether he is any good at tagging though

Who to bench this week - What do we think these guys score?
Jerong - 65
Jaques - 70
Grlj - 75
Jagga - 75
Blamires - 60
Cook - 65
Lombard - dropped, 35
Blakiston - dropped, 35

Is Farrow must have? Would you guys consider turfing Cook to get him in?

My other option was CDT to Steen and fading Farrow

If that's your other option, then get Farrow.
CDT to Steene is 35pts out to 45 in and slow burn cash gains.
Farrow will make more in 3 weeks than the talls will all year.

Which one would you bench from Farrow, Grjl and Serong?

I'm leaning towards Serong due to the narrow Norwood ground. But it is hard to bench a bloke coming off a ton.

Thoughts?

Early byes might be gone next year thank goodness

Interesting. I've said in the past it was a simple case of increasing prime time TV slots for the broadcasters while not increasing the Round count (and therefore needing to pay the players more, or at least have them agree to it).

Adding Opening Round allows them to add 3-4 prime time games in Round 0, and then to shift games that would either be non-prime time across the first 6 rounds into prime time resulting in probably a total 6-8 additional prime time slots.

I'm surprised that the AFL is willing to give that up by what would effectively be moving "Opening Round" back to "Round 1" but maybe just - spread around the expansion states more... Alternatively, perhaps they're trying to just add a round? I would be surprised if they give that cash up - as bankrupt and greedy as they are.
