Hivemind, what do we think about the sub 530k forward options?

(Not counting Flanders - I already got him)

At various points this week I've considered
  • Zac Bailey (big contract year, good team, maybe a smidge overpriced given his historical baseline),
  • J McInerney (better role this year, also good team),
  • Brent Daniel (maybe lower scoring base than a keeper but underpriced - would be a decent cash cow option)
  • Rachele (has great games, has flakey games)
  • Macdonald (role improved over last year - still seems underpriced)

Struggling to decide on which. Currently leaning towards Daniel, thinking he might average 85, which is a little unders a keeper. But the extra 150-200k compared to the others puts me in a good spot for Trac next week. And if you look at his 2025 data, its clear how much being sub/subbed off and being injured suppressed his average.

Thoughts?

CMac trained with the mids in the preseason. looks to be still a cheap value pick.
Still hate that stingray rats tail thingy. avg 22.5 touches so far

Justin Mac kicked a sausage in every game so far , Cant see him doing that every week .
Avg 3 tackles a game is always a positive avg 26 touches so far.

Both PODs

Daniels i like him but his hammies are made of spring roil pastry .

-Buda to Farrow
-DevRob to Murdock

$255k itb

29 trades and 4 boosts left

upgrade season begins next week

Trade targets:
rd7: NMW (vs Eagles, Blues, Suns, Tigers)
rd8: Luggage (vs Bombers, Blues)
rd9: Callaghan (vs Bombers, Eagles)
rd10: Bont (vs Blues, Dees, Pies)
rd11: TBA
rd12: TBA
rd13: Dawson, Trac/Nando/Touk/Rowell, Xerri off their bye
rd14: Ash off his bye
Good plan - you’ve done well to hold on to 4 boosts

on 31 trades and 4 boosts left. 5k itb. Currently thinking no trades and hoping jagga/blamires loop can be fruitful as well as the fwd loop. will look to trade out devrob next week as I'm not super interested in the rookies this week that are on the bubble. thinking my target will be nas next week and then mccluggage the week after. what do you guys think?

Currently tossing up Rachele and McInerney as trade in option for Noah and struggling to decide - a clear favourite for anyone?
I think both of them are good picks TBH

Rachelle to me has the higher ceiling and looks comfortable in the guts, but it looks he might be more vulnerable to a role change, given Adelaide’s forward/scoring issues.

McInerney has slowly evolved into a full time mid who is now starting to impact the scoreboard. To me the forward handball game style we are now playing suits his game perfectly as he is a gut runner.

I'm using reverse psychology ....if all the resilient players are getting injured ....then the injury prone one should be safe

I've gone top of the lines in DEF and MID's ......so I'm going to pad out the fwds, simply cause the FWD rookies look disastrous

Now settle down, those of you s******ing, and hear me out ...... Draper has got his 4 game spell to wipe off the cobwebs & learn the Lions gameplan

A deep dive reveals ......

1. His last two games played in 2025 were 110 & 105 SC points

2. His CBA's in 2026 have been steadily increasing ....42% in R1 to 62% last round

3. His round scores have increased linearly and his last 2 scores were 89 & 117 SC points

4. Fort, who has been playing as an "insurance policy" for Draper .....is now largely not required, his contributions reducing game by game
I actually agree with you, he has a fair bit going for him. On the other hand, he is Draper. He does Draper things and i just cant go there. Good luck to you and anyone else that buys him!

We are just a week or two ahead of the chasing pack :-)

I like McInerney for his bye, will lob him in over Rachele I think.

Rankine will be a good watch, Daniels could be a flick next week if he nails another solid score.

You are in the comfortable ranking position - those of us far far behind needs to take more risks

I can indeed. Might try it and see how it adds up

Would mean I field Lombard which I don't love

Lombard could kick a few vs the bummers- I might field him ahead of marshall.

I don't entirely disagree- but fort still had 24 HO's last week (to drapers 20)... I think draper is going to be a genuine 50/50 split with fort.

At nearly 400k, even putting aside the huge injury risk- the juice isn't worth the squeeze role wise.

Dev Rob > Murdock
Cook > The CHAD

I started mitch edwards, so was watching him in the ruck last week.

BJW was giving away height to edwards (and edwards is a 1 trick pony jump and tap guy).

Williams was regularly jumping all over edwards.
Remains to be seen how he will go against big and experienced rucks- but he did very well against edwards
Yeah, I think Edwards is coming along OK and showing a bit. Still raw, but the effort is there.
Low TOG, and I think he will revert to lower output this week with Bilcavs back etc. Got.him, too, hoping he.makes.100-125k sort of thing, would be handy.
Bailey J definitely had the better of him 👍

Just realised the CHAD hasn’t tonned yet. He’s due.

LOL great research :moustache: :handfist: .

His due low numbers for the Chad so far .

He in my thoughts who to get .

I've even toying with Ginni good role racks them up .

need english out one more week. another 60-70 from edwards and ill be happy. getting around 100k ish from a otherwise dead r3 spot is nice

Currently traded in
Archie Roberts
Josh Rachele

Should I change to
Izak Rankine
Nasiah Wanganeen Milera

Start of the year I would’ve said Nas and Rankine easy.

Thoughts?
