Plenty of rage trade candidates as usual, and the first of them was a huge surprise…

Bontempelli - 28
What the bloody hell was that. I know there were injury niggles, but he wasn’t exactly flying before them. Thought he was untaggable?! If you paid 1.1 million for him before the Essendon game he’s given you a 130 (good), 102 (fine) and 28 (diabolical) for an average of 87-ish. Not very good.

Jaques - 46
Looked like he was one of our most reliable rookies a few weeks ago, but now he’s been “managed” and then returned with a 46. There are too many good defender rookies this year to be tolerating that.

Lombard - 31
More like Gone-bard. Remember when this guy scored 75 in opening round? Somebody needs to audit that because it simply can’t have happened. Wouldn’t even bother trading him because he’s not good enough to have increased in value enough that you can afford anybody decent anyway. Rot him away at F8 for the rest of the year to think about what he’s done.

Macdonald - 66
Plenty of people were in the market for a forward this week, so Connor Mac decided it was a good time to spend about 57 minutes on the bench and drop his lowest score of the year so far. Splendid.

McAndrew - 65
First little sign of a chink in the armour. Still, it’s one game and we’re judging him harshly given how great he’s been. Those that started him at R2 on day one would have been fine with 65s every week. He’s blown that out of the water.

Rachele - 67
One of the picks of the year so again you can’t be too harsh here. On notice though.

Rankine - 70
Like Connor Mac above, this was a harsh punishment for those that had to forgo someone like Archie Roberts because they really needed a forward this week. Gross.

Dovaston - 24

Grlj - 57
Price has probably maxed out so it looks like it might be time to cash him in for somebody who’s cooking with a little more heat…… SEE WHAT I DID THERE

Zakostelsky - 36
Would have made this list even if he scored 100. Just the fact he played was a huge troll from the Fantasy Gods and really messed up a lot of people’s VC plans. What made it even more spectacular was that he only ended up playing 31% time on ground, so if you just left the C on him you’d have got your VC anyway. Kind of fun to watch if you weren’t one of the people affected by it all.

Pickett - 80
Not awful, but it’s yet another forward that under-performed in a week when we really needed to find a good one.

Brayshaw - 64
Maybe we need to stop saying “player X has an easy opponent this week”. Andy Bray has just shown sometimes it doesn’t matter.

Bolton - 67
Going to stop mentioning this guy. This his is level. Those that own him (er, hi 👋) should have known that and never picked him to begin with.

And somehow I still have Budarick and Robertson to trade out
I have nearly a million dollars of Noah Anderson uselessness sitting on my mid bench on my field so I can get the Daicos VC. Would love to turn him into somebody decent if I ever get the chance.

Praying no carnage but hopefully I can either upgrade a defensive rookie or a midfield rookie

Budarick to some premo fwd, probably either Rankine or a Hawk boy. If Ginnivan goes 110 again I may go there, CMac looks very reliable. Also keeping an eye on Zac Bailey Williams

And a Jaques downgrade perhaps or Zorko to a nice back premo

I can handle Jacques being a must trade, at least I wont feel forced to spend up for a premo for him, I can actually trade in my first rookie in over a month lol

Already looking at options:
  • Charlie Edwards - possibly only in for Jordan Dawson - maybe
  • Will McCabe - KPP, scoring unlikely to be good - maybe
  • Xavier Taylor - highly rated, but priced a bit higher at 310k - better

Anyone else? The others a bit below basement price (eg Aleer, Perez) look very much meh.

I know everything should be a bargain, but I have expensive taste and a need for disgusting points.

IN - Baz...
OUT - All my money.

This actually requires going Rankine this week to save a few $.
That said, I could offload Dawson or Bont anyway.

If Tracc looks good this week he's straight in for Bud. Of course this is until the injury carnage that's about to happen over the rest of the round that will completely ruin any trade scenarios I currently have in my head.

Anyone considering hopping off Butters before his date with Oisin next week? Just held Bont to a 28. Round 12 bye and will lose a stack of cash with the hard tag. Plays in Darwin before his bye too so another potential low score.
The way this season is panning out both could be injured by then.

Maybe Budarick and Robertson up to Trac and Kozzie. Maybe just Trac and a mid pricer up to Daicos as no M/F in mids. Who am I kidding, there will be two forced premium trades anyway

Will probably bring Retschko in, has a huge tank, playing wing where there are 2 vacancies (don't rate Ralphsmith) and will be his spot to lose, don't have high expectations on his scoring but I never do when it comes to Tigers players. Hopefully the inclusions of 2 wingers allows Grlj to play in his more natural position and give the opportunity of fielding him for a couple of weeks, makes the selling of Jaques a bit easier to handle.

Jagga is sitting on the bench and topped out with Angry looking like the better option to field, only have 1 spot in the mids so he's first onto the culling floor, Jaques will be directly behind him.

Will hold Anderson again and look to bring in a defender or forward, depends on which rookies that I have the most confidence in fielding. Liking the look of McInerney as a POD forward, doesn't have a high ceiling but does have a high floor, pretty much get what you pay for. Wilkie as a defender POD is on the radar too, can't afford Ash/Whitfield.
