Position 2026 Rucks

Gawn and Xerri with White on the bench.

McAndrew Flex.

If McAndrew fails and gets dropped you move McAndrew to ruck Bench and White to Flex.

You then move White to Forward bench and play a forward rookie at Flex.

There’s your back up plan problem solved.

A rookie forward is the last player you want to have in the Flex position :moustache:

Ok move a forward premo to flex and play a forward rookie in the forwardline.

Or move Fwd/mid rookie to flex and interchange that with a mid rookie.

The options are endless.

Anyway McAndrew flex is the answer not R2.

There seems to be 2 schools of thought on where the greater risk exists in the rucks:

1) New rucks rules are greater risk - Start at least 1 cheap ruck to mitigate, see what evolves through bye rounds and adjust team before Best 22 recommences

2) Starting a rookie at R2 is greater risk - Start 2 guns in ruck with McAndrew at R3 or flex to mitigate the limited escape hatches if he is dropped

Think Rd 0 will help a fair bit in making the final call

Then croms lose 2 on the trot .

Nicks brings ROB back .

Not if McAndrew is flex and White is R3.

You start the risk and worse case scenario you have 2 non playing rookies on your bench.

Walter to the rescue.

I think you put McAndrew R3 unless you get a viable playing R3, in which case you can push him to R2, or Flex if you like two ruck premiums. I don't think it's worth starting White just to get McAndrew on the field.

If you don’t have white at R3 will you be starting with a non playing captain loop option?

Anyone else feeling completely unsure on how to approach rucks this year.

Asking for a mate.
Yep I’m completely torn.

I’ve got it down to 2 options.

Gawn-Xerri
Or
English-TDK

It’s a tough choice.

No bye vs both bye.

Mobile ruck and elite jump and a big salary saving is very tempting.

I keep flip flopping atm I’m Gawn/Xerri with no confidence.
