I do worry with old man Gawn that we might see a repeat of last season where it took him a while to build into the season. Has happened a bit with Pendles as he has gotten older too. Also concerned that with a new look Melbourne midfield, it might take him some time to build towards the chemistry he had with Oliver and Petracca.

I'd be starting Grundy and considering English over him if it weren't for Opening Round, but I don't really like any of the other options.

That’s what everyone said this time last year….

Hey in fairness, I started him last year, so I only started saying it after round 3 and then he made me look very silly 🙈

Thankfully I held him though. But you're right, it's probably not as big a concern as I've suggested in that post. Mainly just worried that if it takes him some time to build chemistry with a new midfield, meaning less HOAs, and he starts slowly, we could see a few sub-100 scores. New rules suit him though, so I'm probably overthinking it.

Doesn't matter anyway. With all the other decent alternatives playing Opening Round, it's the easiest set and forget in a few years.

He’s been top 3 SC scorer every year for a decade or so. Just pick him until he gives you a reason not to output wise. I’m sure it will happen one day, but plenty have missed out on a stack of points trying to play the lotto. Easier to start with him and downgrade/sideways than it will be to get him in later.

I believe there was one person who didn't.

Can't remember their name.

Personally like the big fella again and don’t see any real drop this year.
His only sub 100’s were Witts x2, Xerri and Rob and those Kent’s are all bolted to the floor, even an older
Max will out jump them for a few more taps imo.

15 minutes of hard match sim under the new ruck rules on Friday had this opinion regarding Rob from our track watcher .

Xerri can jump. New rules not a concern for him

So put the C on rucks vs Adelaide if ROB plays
