I feel like it’s that way every year. To start the season we get one notable ruck forward and it’s always In this akward price point.

Think it’s jus the new rules more then anything else and Draper is the player that seems to be a litmus test for how anxious you are about them

The impact of Rucks affects structure so much this year, we really won't know until there's some practice games and round 0 to see the true impact.

Until then, it's hard to know whether you are building around paying up, or getting cheapos in to hold while the big dogs drop in price

Agreed and it's almost impossible to place any stock in the results coming from the preseason games as teams will still be experimenting and may not continue with the structures they're trialing. So just one round of data to go by and that can be skewed as well.

As stupid as it sounds which one would you remove out of Gawn or Xerri from your team?

Considering going with English due to the new rules and I think he can get to more contests than the other two plus can be a bit more involved in field play.

the only logic I have come up with is given Sheezel and possibly McKercher in final team becomes a lot of North premo representation

Gawn. Age has to come into play for Gawn at some point in the season. Rucks are going to take more damage to their body with the jumping in the center square and the older you are the higher the risk.

Also North have an extremely easy ruck draw to start the season Port Adelaide, West Coast, Essendon, Carlton are some of the weakest rucks in the comp. Gawn has St Kilda with Romo + TDK duo, then Freo with Jackson + Darcy duo, then Carlton, then Witts who has traditionally been one of the best against Gawn

The duo rucks don't make a difference to him though,

Last year he had TDK + Pittonet and scored 128 couple weeks later he had English and Darcy and scored 142

Age is the only argument you can make with him as he is simply just the best ruck in the comp
