Hey Uncle I just watched a bit of the Dees v Nth game and big Max Heath beat Xerri at CBA’s and matched up quite well around the ground too. I think he actually beat X on the day for hitouts.
I see he played a few games late last season, do you thinks he's going to get regular game time this season?

Any other year I'd say no, but the extra bench spot does allow flexibility to hold a second Ruckman. Max isn't getting any younger and Melb need to pump games in to whoever the next Ruck is going to be. I agree I thought it looked terrific, and he's more of an athletic type. If he's selected Round 1, he's in my team.

I notice Absmagic/ Moreiras Magic are thinking about doing that as well.

They’ve still got to score 3300 points…..someone has to get them.

Open free flowing footy in pre season, coaches will find a way to slow the game down in the season proper.

Think we collectively need to pump the breaks. I’ll be starting Gawn and Xerri and backing them in.

Reassess at end of round 2 as others have stated.

While there are still 3,300 points, there is effectively an additional 2 players taking points each match and more time on bench for a lot of players (including rucks), is this something to factor?

He does have hot patches, but his lows are so bad. He's in for me for now. Just need him to string together 6-8 great games and then flick him to a ruck who can play out the whole season.

Will watch Reeves closely R0 but I dont think the new ruck rules suit him at all and he'll not get a tonne of ToG.

Wasn't he solo ruck for the first half of last year? His scores went bad when Pittonet came back into the team.

At Saints, he'll have RoMa in there from the start.

I mucked about and traded out Max and X yesterday and ended up with this, using the ruck positions for rookies and getting rid of two rookies for premos elsewhere. Can upgrade to the two best rucks throughout the season once we know who they are, hopefully cheaper than their starting prices

Wont even play every week but he's better than Flynn at ruck taps but that's about it.
Can't pick him.

Thought bubble, as my feelings about rule changes evolve. Most seem to be expecting less stoppages, less points for someone like Xerri. On the flip side, Xerri loses a regular of points around stoppage for various indiscretions. Less stoppage means less opportunities to lose points for someone like him, which should help keep his average up.

As a Hawks fan I haven't been following our preseason but unless there are injuries our ruck line up will be Meek and Chol.

If you're planning on watching Reeves closely in R0 I suggest a trip to Box Hill will be necessary.

Folk forget what the coaches try out in preseason games often doesn't happen in the real stuff.

Folk are also shitting themselves about what to do in the ruck line.
