Position 2026 Rucks

I think I’m getting more and more convinced to start TDK over Jackson and pocket the $85k.

TDK is the preferred ruck and seemed like he did quite well in the praco sharing a portion of the duties with Marshall.

Jackson seems like he’s the second ruck while getting throw around in the middle and up forward.

TDK seems like a low risk pick to me compared to Jackson who’s a bit of an unknown. Not considering the bye.

If Jackson was the undisputed numero 1, he’d be in my team in a heartbeat.

Worst case if TDK starts to stink it up (especially when King does come back in), can always upgrade him to the best scoring ruck at the time
This convinced me to swap out Jacko for TDK.

Don't know what to do with the extra $$ though as the rest of my team was settled.

Same. TDK is definitely underpriced after he was given a shocking role back half of last year. Too many question marks over Jackson's role. It's a shame cos Jackson has the potential to be the highest SC ruck in the game.

Can't wait for the meltdowns when Xerri goes 165 week 1. ;)
Don't quite get the derision or smugness TBH. So people are daring to think a little differently. Everyone doing the same thing is one of the things that sucks about Supercoach.

Anyone who's played Monopoly long enough knows that more often than not, getting a row of properties and getting the maximum houses on those properties, will get you a win. But it's boring.

Is L.McAndrew a must have as a bench Ruck ?
Will he play 6-7 games in the 1st half of the season or would CCj get more games as a 2nd ruck/fwd

L McAndrew should be on field

Don't worry if he blanks the same people will not be saying a peep.

At least this year only Jiska is crowing about how great Gawn is :moustache:

What about Coleman-Jones? 66 from 31% TOG against Pies. Not much chance of getting in the team?
If he's selected, he's in. Problem is Norf play Sunday.

Kalani White from the Dees is 99K DPP, they don't play Thurs or Fri a heap
We own Sunday's. And KW is injured as well, won't be back in a hurry.

IIRC I was the only one crowing about Gawn preseason last year as well ;)

Yup. Would be great to have him in flex, seems like he had a good role. But I looked quickly on the North board earlier and all team predictions I saw didn't have him in there.

You’re right — we’ll heroically hold for two rounds, convince ourselves it was “part of the plan,” then flick him and call it a calculated cash grab to upgrade elsewhere. 😀

It’s not doom and gloom — it’s SuperCoach. If you picked him without an exit strategy, that’s not bad luck, that’s poor planning.

Its amazing how the BF footy boards for the clubs differ from the AFL 'best 23' so wildly, I'd trust the BF boards more than the AwFL website.

White isn't very good, reasonable chance he never gets on an AFL field.

Im backing my hunch the moose (heath) will play 8- 10 games this year.

Meaning to me, spending 100k on him instead of white is a good investment.

(Unless reidy looks good early...ie he looks to hold his spot alongside pittonet for ~8 games and score half decent)

Just trade Heath in on the bubble. You only lose having a $200k donut.

Sure back your guy, but tanking your SC team isn't the way.

At 689k, the exit strategy is trade to literally anyone else.

Keep in mind, though, that his first round or two is historically lower so it might be a false result. Need to really wait 4 rounds.

Welcome back Scoops, been A LOT of hot air expended on the rucks this preseason. Canny move ignoring it all, canny indeed.

Short version, looks like the changes aren't as bad as first feared (as is often the way in such things) but also a small drop in stoppages should favour the rucks strong in transition. So your analysis is spot on as usual.

My two cents on the relevant rucks discussed recently.

Xerri - in trouble but has a dream first 2 months. Risky fade, but maybe not.
Gawn - should be fine, getting older though.
Grundy - looked great in the PS game, playing against spuds. Great pick imo
English - weak streak of pish, I'm starting him.
Jackson - Hodor, not for me
Cameron - Probably OK, bit boring
Dante Visentini - Great name, spud player. Some are keen as he's ahead of Sweet
McAndrew - Lock him in, rookie priced playing rucks are gold
Reidy - Potato, but will make money if he plays.
This is great 👍
Xerri seems like he would be disadvantaged by the new rules.
Gawn I think will just keep.on being Gawn, just didn't have funds initially.
Jackson could be good, but worry about Darcy in the same way.
Hadn't even thought about Grundy, but he was great last year.
Think English makes sense, have him locked in.
Was on TDK but realized Marshall never ended up getting traded, so guess TDK would be like 60% ruck, seems marginal tbh.

think Jiska said it eloquently

Maximus is top dog until he's not, plus has no byes so if points were king, he's gonna score more in 4 games than those other 2 in 3.

math
Yeah , Gawn seems a safe bet, tbh.
He's pricy, but pricy for a reason 👍
